I grew up in the church, but the day I came to know Christ for myself and not just another idea thrown at me, I felt changed but looking back... in the beginning, it was more of a high. I was excited, determined, it was kinda emotional. Through the years you will have your ups and downs, sticking to a religion is not easy but only you can know the truth in your own heart. A lot of issues will be unsignificant and many will become more of an issue... Keep your inspiration going, you seem like you are pretty smart, dont doubt...and when you do, go back to your foundation instead of your feelings

I imagine Jesus not as a savior or a man pinned to a cross in his underwear dying for some cause that isn't really apparent, but as a man. I imagine that im following a man named Jesus around, and seeing miracles left and right performed by a guy who's unimaginably wise and just perfect in all aspects. So then Jesus starts talking to me. ME!! And by this point i can barely speak and just kind of mumble to the Son of God (only a man like Jesus can get away with claiming that) and he nods his head understandingly, and i think "forget the pop starts; forget super heroes; forget my dad! i want to be just like Him!" Jesus was not the physical son of God. God never actually comes to earth if i remember. He is the son of Mary, it says in the nativity story. He's a man and we are men so logic says that we can do anything he can do; such as be perfect. So here i am always thinking "what would Jesus do?" Then...to some people discovering Jesus is singing with your hands in the air and speaking in tongues. Which ever gives you peace of mind ;)
And when you question God, he usually gives you the answers. Interpret that how you like.

I have a very similiar story. I did not grow up in a religous family and was never introduced to religion. Some recent events in my life, including the death of a close friend, made me start to investigate and ask many questions. As my friend passed away, I witnessed how calm she was because she had faith that she was going to be saved by Jesus. I set on a quest for knowledge. I investigated various religions and various churches until I found one that worked for me. I found a place that legitimately felt like home. My family and I have attended for about 6 weeks now, and I feel like a new person. My husband grew up in a christian environment and is very supportive of me and is also glad to be back. Even if you are just imaging it.........it is a good place to be ay?

Yes finding Christ does change you inside and out. This is the real deal. Jesus has changed your heart and your thinking. everyday issues are less important now cause we know that Jesus will help us with those issues. Life with Jesus will bring you much joy and happiness. Yes there will still be bad times, but thank God for those to, there are many lessons that we learn from the bad things that happen in life. May God bless and keep you safe in His loving arms.

Accepting Jesus into my heart has changed my life and the person I see now has little in common with the man before. The problems that I face seem less significant because I know that I have something greater. It has shaped every aspect of my life and I couldn't be happier.

Come on now. You didn't start your Christian life by doubting Him, so don't start now.
Spiritual experiences are going to flood into your life as you continue if you don't doubt God. I am telling you this because I've been there. I've been a Chrisitan for over 20 years and I'm going to tell you that there are so many trials ahead of you. You will fall short, but if you trust God for what He promised then you will overcome anything. It's by His power that you can do that.

I've been a Christian for over 25 years and He's still transforming me.! It's a life long journey of changing from the old person you used to be to the new person you will be by the time you go to be with Him in heaven. The Bible says, that He who began a good work in you shall work to complete it.

Repent means to "turn from" This means we ought to turn from our sin and live for the Lord! Follow Him! Not just confess it before Him, but get RID of it. And only the Lord can do this, only He can turn us around. Praise be to Him! Ezekiel 18:21 "But if a wicked person turns away from all his sins that he has committed and keeps all my statutes and does what is just and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die. Salvation is NOW, through Jesus Christ who forgives all our iniquities and presents us clean, washed, justified by His blood and sanctified in His Holy Spirit. He says: John 5:24 Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.

Christ certainly made a noticeable difference in mine, but I know others that it took some time. Read your bible New Testament at first, and you will continue to notice the difference in your life, and continue to grow.
