I'm posting this question for my 23 year old son.

He wakes up every morning with his hands and feet extremely cold. He said it takes about 30 minutes for his extremities to warm up. He is very tired and unable to really focus or concentrate.

He can sleep for 12 hours plus and still not feel rested.

Sometimes his feet really itch and burn in the morning as well.

Any ideas? I've told him to see a doctor, but right now he does not have any insurance. So, any suggestions would be helpful.

thanks

that's a sign of Insipidus Diabetes. it means his hormones levels are low. I have that and am on medication for it and doing much better. you need to see a encrondine doctor for this.

Sounds like your son is having a weak body, not enough of "pu" as in Chinese sayings.

The Chinese believe that to lead a healthy life, the body's internal positive and negative forces (yin/yang ) must be balanced. Any imbalance causes illness. To rebalance the body, the Chinese turn to certain foods, each of which have certain properties, including moist (jun ), dry (tsao ), cool (liang ), warm (wen ), draining (hsieh ), and nourishing (pu).

According to Chinese medicine, people with poor circulation should "pu" by eating foods like ginseng, shrimp, and eel. Garlic, pears, and tea will drain the body of disease. During the winter, most people take special care to eat nourishing or "pu" foods to boost the body's strength to combat disease and resist infection.

Chinese beliefs in the benefits of pu and other herbal medicines date back centuries. In traditional Chinese agrarian society, farmers had to work extremely hard during spring, summer, and fall. But during winter, the weather was too cold to work or grow food. The farmers desperately needed rest, and they would pu--or eat particularly nourishing foods --while they rested to prepare their bodies for spring.

Seek something "pu" for your son, as in Cordyceps or Ginseng.
