Now i'm wondering, when i go to court for the first one, is the judge gonna be able to see the one i got the day after or does it take a while to actually show up? And what options do i have w/the both of them?

btw, everyone speeds now and again. it's the governments big money-machine trap. while good people are paying big fines, meth-heads, murderers and child molestors are getting free meals and housing.

Unless you have some real way to challenge the tickets, you're stuck.

Most states let you just go in and pay off the fines and not go to court. But if you must go before the judge, I don't think the second ticket will show up in the hearing for the first one. Now, the second one will probably have both--plus any earlier tickets you earned.

Yes, speeding violations are an easy way to generate income without making cops work hard (sit in patrol car until radar beeps. look to see who's fastest.) The way to avoid them is simple: don't be the fastest car on the road; be second-fastest. (If you're the only car on the road, stay within 10 miles of the limit--five if residential street). You'll drive to where you're going almost as fast--only a few seconds slower--and you'll save all the time while the cop makes you wait on the roadside and while the judge goes thru all the other crazy reckless drivers' offenses.

Do your tickets require a court appearance? Some will allow you to mail in your fine with the ticket and you don't have to go to court at all.
If you do go to court. You plead guilty. Apologize for forgetting your responsibility to drive safely. And hope the judge just fines you instead of jailing you or pulling your license.

You are correct that everyone speeds now and again. Most get away with it, some get ticketed, some kill people. As a former police chief it used to gall me to no end that I had to expend so much manpower on my traffic division. But if I didn't then the over 250 traffic accidents my city did have would have probably tripled. One of the last fatal accidents my officers handled, before I retired, involved a 10 year old girl who ran out into the street after her cat. She was struck by a car and killed. Accident analysis determined that the car was going about 10 mph over the limit. If he had been doing the speed limit he still would have hit the girl but also might have just injured her. Instead of paying a hospital bill a family buried their daughter and the driver, instead of sending a sympathy card, will spend eight years in prison for manslaughter.

Those traffic laws exist for a reason. That you don't think they should apply to you or that they are just not important, reveals a lot about your sense of responsibility behind the wheel.

Driving is a privilege, not a right. If you can't follow the rules, get off the road. My kids play near the streets you speed on.
The judge will see the charges against you on your MVR, even if you have not yet been to court. And he will also see your attitude. I hope h takes away your license.

If the judge doesn't know about the 2nd when you go in for the 1st, he/she will definitely know about the 1st when you go to court for the 2nd.

Slow down and stop trying to shift the blame onto the govt for your actions.

Weren't you paying attention when you got the first ticket?

Maybe you better forget about driving for awhile. You're not mature enough to handle it.
