Definitely not. Man's interpretation of the bible can be evil.Or it can be good. People seem to interpret the bible in vastly different ways. It seems to me to be the book most used as a get out or excuse for behaviour, opinions or judgements.

I TAKE IT ALL BACK, JUST HAD A READ FROM THAT WEBSITE & CHECKED OUT ITS AUTHENTICITY. I APOLOGISE MY ONLY READING OF THE BIBLE WAS MATTHEW, MARK, LUKE & JOHN. AFTER WHAT I HAVE JUST READ THEN YES ABSOLUTELY DEFINITELY. ITS EVIL, SICK, SEXIST, RACIST & ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTS ME.

Yes all those things are in the Bible, but not endorced by God in any way. All of those things happen today and happened back then. The Bible is not going to sugar coat the evils of the world. All history books have those subjects in them because it happened. Does that make every history book evil? On the contrary the Bible is a book of hope and love. The messages in the Bible can help people overcome the physical and emotional damages of rape, Read Exodus to hear about the deliverance from slavery. On the surface the Bible may seem confusing and kinda out there but the more you read and the deeper you dive the more sense it makes and the more sense living makes. Definately dont take my word for it. Pick up a Bible yourself. "The Message" is a easy to read version of the Bible that uses normal everyday english instead of hard to understand language.

"The greatest single cause of atheism in the world today... is Christians who acknowledge Jesus with their lips and walk out the door and deny Him by their lifestyle. That is simply what an unbelieving world finds unbelievable."

First of all, lets take a look at Numbers 31:1-2

"1 Then the Lord said to Moses, 2 “On behalf of the people of Israel, take revenge on the Midianites for leading them into idolatry. After that, you will die and join your ancestors.”

1. Under Gods law, the penalty for sin is DEATH, so everyone dies. (ex Acts 5)

2. God is a jealous God. In this passage, the Midianites were leading Gods chosen nation into idolatry. (The worship of idols)(ie wooden carvings with gold ect...)

3. Here is some commentary I found:

"Verse 17. Kill every male among the little ones] For this action I account simply on the principle that God, who is the author and supporter of life, has a right to dispose of it when and how he thinks proper; and the Judge of all the earth can do nothing but what is right. Of the women killed on this occasion it may be safely said, their lives were forfeited by their personal transgressions; and yet even in this case there can be little doubt that God showed mercy to their souls. The little ones were safely lodged; they were taken to heaven and saved from the evil to come."

4. And in verse 18, I think that Moses doesn't mean that they should take the girls for their partners, but as children, to raise
them in a way God intended.

Happy to defend my faith.

Bible just means book. But in English we take it to mean a holy book often in the Christa in religion.

If you look deep enough, I'm sure any point can be proven. I believe it was a German minister who had deciphered the coming of the end of the world according to encrypted passages of the bible.

He gathered his flock together in the church to wait for the end. At the appointed hour, a storm approached and thunder and lightening was all about them. They prayed. Then, the storm passed and the world didn't end and they beat him up.

It'd be interesting to see who put that website out. According to the "about Evil bible webpage" it's put out by a Chris 'ali-baba' thiefe, a made-up name if I ever heard one.

This is what you get when people have to much time on their hands and do drugs.

The bible is quite gizzly in most parts of the old testament, If you point this out to most christians. They will tell you that they only pay attention to the New testament and the life of jesus.
God in the old testament is portrayed as a mass murderer. Eg the great flood, The city of sodom. etc
Yeah but god had his reasons, some say. but so did Dr shipman.
You want logic from a christain? Good luck amigo!

Rape occurs in the Old Testament. It is not encouraged.

Slavery is something that is treated matter of factly. What keeps slaves in slavery? Is it human force? Or fear and lies? For example, Isaiah 54:14: "This is what the LORD says: "The products of Egypt and the merchandise of Cush, and those tall Sabeans— they will come over to you and will be yours; they will trudge behind you, coming over to you in chains. They will bow down before you and plead with you, saying, 'Surely God is with you, and there is no other; there is no other god.'" This means that the Sabeans got enough info to make a choice about where they wanted to be.

As for killing children and human sacrifice, did you realise that the Bible is a historical work, not a mythology? Those things have happened in history and the Bible explains how perfectly "rational" people have justified it. Also how to avoid shared guilt yourself.

It's not code. It's metaphor. Metaphor pertains to the real world and gives meaning to it.

Your illustrations are taken from the Old Testament, which is a Holy Book accepted by Jews, Christians and Muslims as the basis of their monotheistic beliefs.

The words of the New Testament speak of forgiveness, love and peace.

An example of this is the following discussion between a Jewish father and God.

'God, I'm worried about my son. He's over thirty, goes around with a strange bunch of friends, says I'm old-fashioned and wants to change everything.'
'Yes, I understand,' said God, 'I had similar problems with my son.'
'What did you do?' asked the distraught father.
'I changed my testament,' replied God.

The book is not evil, but incompasses both the old and new testament. In the new testament, which was mainly written by Paul (Sal). Paul was against Jesus until too late. Jesus according to world famous Time survey of the 100 mosts influential people was number 3 after Paul. Paul then in his own word described what Jesus meant and changed & added rules as he felt necessary. This along with the other discipals is the flaw. People's memory of what went on gets corrupted. Jesus was a messanger of God, but the people writing the account were just men, who are flawed. The proof of this is the contridictions within the Bible.

Better skip the Old Testament entirely, it reads like a Stephen King horror novel.

How many people would eat their own children?

Genocide, slavery, forced sex of minors, unimaginable horrors, all designed to provoke fear.

Homophobic, Racist and sexist too.

Stick to The New Testament, its more easy reading.

its how you react to the whole of the word
look at it as a standard test
its how you react to certain parts that gives you your test score
how you apply it gives you your free pass to heaven or hell ,
its not a book off rules though it has recorded some gopod rules
its not a book of laws [thougfh the laws are written in it ]
its a record of human failings and future expectation and so much more
some go into nature to look at the amasing animals and plants
some go into it to studdy scatts
depends where you are at now as to what you find
see the evil as a mistakke in wise peoples judging
evil comes , evil goes , we have now science [sense] to know the good from the bad
only ther good the love is from god [the living god]
the spiritual evolution of the people of god
