I lost 10 pounds over 2 months, now I am underweight and I need to gain it back. But I am worried it is not going to go back where it came from. I am mostly concerned that it will all go to my stomach even though I only lost a small amount from the stomach. I do crunches every night. Has anyone gained back lost weight and wound up with a body that's different from what they had before?

Some new information:

Exactly how much weight I lost is now unclear. The scale in my bathroom says I weigh 90, the scale at my fitness center says 97 (both times I weighed myself it was the morning, before eating anything). So I may not have even lost that much.

Either way, I have to get back to 100 pounds for personal reasons (it's complicated), which means I have to gain at least 3.

I weighed 100 pounds at this time last August and weight fluctuated slightly since then (went up a little, then down a little). So it is not as if I have been this weight for a long time. However, I lost it at a relatively slow rate (couldn't be more than 2 pounds a week and that's stretching it) and am planning on gaining at a slow rate (around .5 lbs a week).

Unfortunately thats how it happens. Women who work out like crazy after a baby don't ever fit back into that same pair of jeans. It may be the same weight but it will never be the same shape again. Why would you want to gain the weight back that you worked so hard to lose?

Keep working out and you will gain the weight back the right way in muscle but yes if you start eatting more to put it on, it's going to go to the thighs and stomach. Just like women complain that when they lose the weight they lose it from the chest first. Its just another part of the woman's curse. You lose weight from where you don't want to, gain it where you don't want--not from back where it came from.

Keep doing the cruches every night and it will keep your tummy flat. But sorry--body will be different.
