After Jesus died, He went to hell to free the dead from hell. He brought the dead out of hell and ascended them to heaven. The reason for this is that the dead never knew of the one true God nor did Jesus have the opportunity to teach them. Those who died without ever knowing Jesus nor the Father were automatically forgiven and were received into heaven by Jesus who died to free them. Everyone in hell went to heaven and I mean everyone. Jesus died for the salvation of the living and for delivering the dead to heaven. This process took three days according to earth's time. On the third day Jesus appeared and was seen by Mary Magdalene and the disciples. Jesus died and rose from the dead on the third day but, in between that time he delivered the dead to heaven.

Show me Biblically where it says He descended into hell?
On the contrary, did not Jesus turn to one of the criminals also being crucified and told him that he will be with Him in Paradise today?
Christ died, and shed His blood, to pay the price for our sins...but I have never read in the Bible that He subsequently descended to Hell. The Bible says that in three days Christ rose again from the dead (not from hell) as the firstborn of the dead, having overcome death, and sat at the right hand (a place of high honor) of God the Father.

He did not descend into Hell or Outer darkness but into Spirit Prison where He taught those who had not heard of His teachings so that they would then have the opportunity to accept or reject them.

Jesus did not descend into hell before His resurrection. He went to the spirit world and bridged the gap between Paradise and the spirit prison. He preached to the righteous spirits and delegated priesthood holders to preach to the unrighteous in the spirit prison.
Read your Bible; it is in there.

It is believed that Jesus went into the lower parts, and took captivity captive. He then rose from the dead in bodily form, and then went to Heaven.

It's like when you're driving through Missouri, and you see the Mecca of Albino Squirrels sign. You know you're never going to be through there again, so you just HAVE to stop. Sure it's a tourist trap, but you just want to be able to say you've been there.

Some have the viewpoint that Jesus went to “Hell” or the suffering side of Sheol / Hades in order to further be punished for our sins. This idea is completely unbiblical! It was the death of Jesus on the Cross and His suffering in our place that sufficiently provided for our redemption. It was His shed blood that substantiated our own cleansing from sin (1 John 1:7-9). As He hung there on the Cross, He took the sin burden of the whole human race upon Himself. "He became sin for us," 2 Corinthians 5:21 states: "For He hath made Him to be sin for us Who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him." This imputation of sin helps us understand Christ's struggle in the garden of Gethsemane with the cup of sin which would be poured out upon Him on the cross.
When Jesus cried upon the Cross, "Oh, Father, why have You forsaken Me?" it was then He was separated from the Father because of the sin poured out upon Him. As He gave up His spirit, He said, "Father, into Your hands I commit My spirit." His suffering was completed in our stead. His soul/spirit went to the Paradise side of Hades. Jesus did not go to Hell. Jesus’ suffering ended the moment He died. The payment for sin was paid. He then awaited the resurrection of His body and His return to His glory in His ascension. Did Jesus go to Hell? No. Did Jesus go to Sheol / Hades? Yes.

It's amazing to me that there is such a difference of the interpretations of this question. This is why I don't give money to a church.
