From a christian perspective he is the god the son and the holy spirit in one.
From a muslims perspective he is a prophet only
From an athiest perspective he is just a normal man with no claim of any revelation or spiritualism.
Its up to you to decide based on the facts, which you think is true. I urge you, that when you do seek the truth, the truth will come to you.

The Bible I read states that Jesus Christ is the Only Begotten Son of the Father, he is our redeemer and Savior. He was with the Father in the beginning, and is ONE with God in Purpose, but is a different being. Numerous scriptural verses in the Bible state the obvious in that God and Jesus are two different people.
In Matthew 3:17, after Jesus was baptized, a voice came OUT OF HEAVEN, saying this is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased. If Jesus and God were the same, how could he be in two Galilee getting baptized and speaking with a voice coming from heaven? And why would he be "pleased with himself?" Makes much more sense that God and Jesus are two different people.
Acts 7:55. When Stephen was stoned, he looked up into Heaven and saw God and Jesus standing on the right hand of God. How could a person by standing on his own right hand? Stephen saw two people.
There are many more examples in the Bible. Many many more. But I will not be loquacious.

Yes...
John 1:1 explains this. Since the reasons behind the translation are complex, here is a quote from a New Testament Greek textbook on the issue:
- We know that “the Word” is the subject because it has the definite article, and we translate it accordingly: “and the Word was God.” Two questions, both of theological import, should come to mind: (1) why was 'theos' thrown forward? and (2) why does it lack the article? In brief, its emphatic position stresses its essence or quality: “What God was, the Word was” is how one translation brings out this force. Its lack of a definite article keeps us from identifying the person of the Word (Jesus Christ) with the person of “God” (the Father). That is to say, the word order tells us that Jesus Christ has all the divine attributes that the Father has; lack of the article tells us that Jesus Christ is not the Father. John’s wording here is beautifully compact! It is, in fact, one of the most elegantly terse theological statements one could ever find. As Martin Luther said, the lack of an article is against Sabellianism; the word order is against Arianism. - DANIEL B WALLACE as quoted in Basics of Biblical Greek Grammar, Copyright © 1993 by William D. Mounce.

Jesus Christ, or Jehovah, was the Firstborn of God the Father in spiritual form and the Only Begotten Son in the flesh.
He is the Son of God on one hand, but also, because of the divine investiture of the Father, the God and Creator of this earth and the universes that we know about.
That is why He is known as the Father and the Son in the Bible and other scriptures. Yet God the Father, His Eternal Father and ours, reigns supreme.

If Jesus was God and that's all there was to it... Jesus would have never been referred to as the Son of God. God would be the only reference to Jesus.
Many Christians use scriptures saying God and Jesus are one to explain the trinity. But through this logic that would make us all God.
John 14:20-- At that day ye shall know that I am in my father, and ye in me, and I in you.
Also all of John 17, but specifically
John 17:11--... Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.
Matthew 3:13-17
16 And Jesus, when he was baptized...and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased.
These scriptures separate Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit into three separate beings who are one in purpose.
When a scripture says something along the lines of God and Jesus being one, it is saying they are one in purpose, not being.
The Trinity was created by Catholics in councils where men without the authority voted on making the Trinity doctrine--which is false.

Jesus was a Prophet as were many others, God had no offspring, and do you think God would let anyone Crucify him on the Cross.??
Please what stupidity, all these stories about Son of God and God coming to earth as a human.
Why would he need to?
Those stories have all been twisted and taken out of context.
God is real and yes, he spoke to us through prophets, like Abraham,Moses, Jesus and many more, but then man distorted those words and made them their own, for their own benefit, any they will pay for that!
God Bless all believers!

I believe that Jesus is the Son of God AND is also God of the Old Testament...
I believe that Jesus the Christ is the only Begotten Son of God in the flesh...
I also believe that Jesus as a Spirit son of God was given the power by God to create the Physical Universe, the earth, and all that is on the earth, including us.. referred to as "the Word" in St John.
I believe that Jesus as a Spirit Son of God spoke to Adam and Eve as directed by God the Father.. and to all of the Prophets of the Old Testament and the Book of Mormon...
I believe that Jesus then came to this earth in the Flesh to be an example for us, to teach us, and to fulfill His Promises to us...
I believe that Jesus has power over death and that He could have hung forever upon the cross without dying.. but He WILLINGLY gave up HIS life as a sacrifice to God the Father to demonstrate His OWN faith in the Father.. the PERFECT sacrifice as had been symbolized by the sacrifice of Lambs in previous times...
I believe that between the time of His death and His resurrection Jesus went to Spirit Prison and fought with Satan and freed the Spirits there.. and He PERSONALLY taught the Spirits that He had freed (they had lived before He came to earth and many had believed in Him anyway).. then Jesus was Resurrected into His Physical body and ascended to Heaven prior to returning to teach his Disciples again...
I believe that after He left His Disciples on the European Continent, He then came to the Americas and taught the people here before once again returning to Heaven...
I believe that Jesus still lives.
