What the church is hiding.
Jesus was unable to get through this life without sinning. Because he was god and still sinned all mere humans had to be allowed with sins as well.
Catholics believe Jesus was born with the first sin
He lost his temper in the temple.
He Turned on god on the cross. My God my God why have your forsaken me.
The truth shall set you free.

I believe that God sent Jesus not just for his plan of salvation, but to allow us to see His divine love ("agape") He had for all man, who is His creation. Can you imagine how much God wanted man to be reconciled unto Himself -- so much that He designed a Plan to sacrifice a perfect sinless godman (Jesus) who is his son so that we would only have to believe in Him, confess our sins and ask Jesus into our hearts and we would not only have the gift of the Holy Spirit, but also the gift of eternal life with God. Jesus did die. He was dead for two full days. He was resurrected on the third day. He actually conquered death for you and me because he loves us. I encourage you to read the New Testament beginning with the Book of John. Love, your sister in Christ, Diane Rebecca

I'll tell u the truth, I'm Catholic and went to a Catholic school partically and I have a bit of wonders at times. They did not believe he was God's son, so he accepted the death because he knew he would return and prove he was the son of the father. I'm 21 who went to sunday school and religioin class and I wonder with bits. U can find out more in the New Testiment.

Christ's death would not be at all necessary for an omnipotent, all-powerful god. I do not believe that any gods exist.
We're alone on this beautiful planet. So we've got to save ourselves in a very real sense, as opposed to a supernatural one. Stop war. Help others through scientific and medical advancements, disarm nuclear weaponry, etc.

'He actually lost no life in the whole dramatic event'... What?
He died... Just because He was resurrected doesn't mean He didn't suffer death.
Without dying He couldn't have been risen from the dead and couldn't have given the gift of Resurrection we Will receive.

Cause it was part of the Pagan plan of salvation. To appease the gods by means of a freak atonement. It's nothing original, just another Christian plagiarism.
The Bible god wanted the people to burn animals in his honor. The atonement of Jesus is just an advanced version of that.

God's law required a blood sacrifice of purity. Nothing in this world is pure. Only God could fulfill His own law.

to become resurrected , you have to die first.
the Resurrection was necessary to SHOW (as opposed to telling) people that there was life after death, and that jesus was christ.

He did not have to die. He chose to do it. Jesus fulfilled the Bible prophecy. We are here for God's pleasure and for His purposes. : )

Because sin have to be payed by someone perfect and holy. That is only Jesus that can do that.
Jesus died, because He have to pay our sin, that none of us can do it.
