I'm getting married in a few weeks. My husband makes more money than I do. What do I claim on my forms at work?

Please keep in mind I am not very bright when it comes to this topic, and I have tried to read directions on the IRS website. It's just hard to understand and I am looking for a simple answer to my question from couples who have experience. Thanks!

Claim married, zero allowances for this year, and see how you come out at the end of the year, then adjust it for next year if you need to.

You should both sit down with a Form W-4 package (get it at the IRS website) and complete the worksheets on page 2. That will tell you how much you should claim in total exemptions between you (often zero) AND how much additional tax you will probably need to have withheld.
