I built my own computer, I have an asus p5nsli motherboard and i recently made the jump from windows xp to Vista, after hating vista I decided to go back to windows xp, so after reformatting my hard drive, and reinstalling xp, some of my drivers do not work. The one I am the most concerned with is my Ethernet driver, because of this I can't use the internet. When I put in the driver disk that came with my motherboard everythign works fine, then when i click to download the internet driver it starts downloading, and looks like it's at the end, then it says, "1607: Unable to install, InstallShield scripting Runtime." Also when I install xp, it does not start with the standard xp theme, it has a classic theme and the xp theme is not even on the computer. And also xp is not owned by me, it's my friends and i'm borrowing it :D. Any suggestions guys?

Thanks alot~

Buy your own copy of XP...

As for Media Centre version...you poor soul...

I have heard similar stories about Vista. Especially if the person has been foolish enough to buy Vista Home Basic.

Installing on top of another operating system is not advisable,in fact your computer will be severely damaged - you can only attempt to do so if you are a professional.Having said that, the better way round is to have a dual operating system installed on your computer which you can navigate from time to time

Down load this program and identify all your hardware. Save the list. Now go to the company's website and download the latest drivers.

If you built it yourself you will know all the devices on board - contact manufacturers of each and download drivers for them.
As regards themes - least of your worries - all easily availiable online.
