I just got my tax ID through here:

So a 'sales tax ID' is the same thing as a tax ID, right?

Not necessarily - it depends on your state and how you established your business with the state.

Nope. An EIN is an Employer ID Number. It's used for income tax and payroll tax filings. A sales tax number is totally different and is used when you collect and render sales taxes for the state.

Absolutely not. A sales tax ID is issued to a company when they register to collect sales in a state.
