Does a general or a head of state have to be angry for their troops to salute to them? Is it a sign of respect, or of fear, to bow to a king and queen when presented to them in their court?
This is just "courtly manners". The act of bowing to a regent is an act of honor and submission, a showing of respect. Neither anger nor fear is required for this, only a recognition of the advanced rank of the person recieving the obesience.
Those who bow their heads, knees, bodies, etc in prayer, are simply showing submission to God. Can you submit to someone you love? You betcha. That is the BEST kind of submission!

I think you are getting confused with the wording for the Second Coming of Christ when "every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus is Lord". All those who denied Jesus will see Him coming to earth and know He is God and all will bow to Him. You would get to know who Our loving God is if you would humble yourself and read about Him in the Bible. He is a Just and loving God. But, that is your choice on what to believe. We all will answer to Him when we take our last breath. Our God, your choice. God bless.

Ever think that those knees will bend and people bow because they will see the greatness and majesty and power of God, and realize how insignificant they are, and how all-encompassing and all-powerful He is?
People today bow down to some corrupt old fart in Rome, voluntarily.....can you even imagine seeing the power and might of God. People bow down when a guy with a little badge and a little gun tells them too- because they know that he has power over them, and they are powerless to resist him...imagine being in the presence of God almighty......
Believe me....people will bow because as the highest being in the universe, He is worthy of such respect, and like a mighty man or royalty, automatically commands that respect.

You took that verse out of context, sorry. It says that " Every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord" It means that one day, when we all stand before God, believers and non-believers will recognize and confess (admit) that Jesus Christ is Lord. (GOD)

The quote is:
Romans 14:11
As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.
If you aren't His child at this point it will be uncomfortable. If you are this will be a joyful moment... Jim

The central message of Christianity is one of love. But, in order to understand the love of God, you need to understand who God is. God is holy and perfect. He loves truth and justice and he hates sin. He hates sin so much, the penalty is death. Our sin is disgusting to God. He is serious about it. Even sins that we think are no big deal here on earth, like hate or selfishness, are vile to God. He cannot allow that in his presence. If he did, he would not be holy, perfect and just. Therefore, he would not be God. The love is this- while we were enemies of God, he died for us. He died for us so that we would not have to pay the penalty. He wanted us to spend eternity with him. He literally came and paid the penalty for us! What greater love can you find than that!
So yes, we will worship him. Not because he is angry, but because he is God. A concept so extreme that our human minds can barely comprehend it. As awesome as he is, he wants us to know him personally. He wants us to experience the peace and fulfillment that comes from Him. That is why he died for us.

Peaceful in some contexts is like the Pax in Pax Romana: Be peaceful or expect to get a can of whoop as s opened on you. This explains the existence of the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch. When I was in the Navy we hated serving with Fundamentalists, not because of their proseliting (although that didn't help) but because they were uniformly poor at their jobs.

Every knee shall bow down, and every tongue will confess Jesus Is Lord.
That's right, even if you don't want to, you will bow down.
When you see Jesus Christ in His Glory you will hit your knees.
Even satan is going to bow down.

The word says that Every Knee shall bow, every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, he does not say this out of anger but out of honor to himself for he is King of Kings and he deserves by virtue of what he represents our honor and service. Would you be willing to lay down your life for a friend, or the the world and I am not talking about time of war, I am talking about to save your friend from impending wrongs or sins. I think not. No one can love as much as Jesus loved us. His love is everlasting, his love is unconditional.

thank you for the opportunity to correct an erroneous quote..it's 'every knee shall bow, every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord'...i fail to see the anger in that-we bow down in love for the risen Lord...worship is not falling down in fear, quaking and trembling-worship is acknowledging the power and glory of our God, and showing our love for Him, as He has demonstrated His love for us by sending his Son...the key is love
