Or was the time for Easter just picked randomly (or to coincide with a Pagan holiday), like Christmas? Is there anything in the bible, or archaeological/historical record, that points to it happening around this time?

I am not a christian. However, I do believe Jesus existed. I'm just curious as to the origin of this particular holiday.

Yes. He was killed at the end of Passover which is the same time every year according to the Jewish calendar. He rose 3 days later on the first day of the week, which is Sunday. Instead of celebrating the exact same date every year we celebrate the Sunday after Passover.
The Bunny and the eggs are the pagan hold overs from celebrating fertility.
There is also records of the earthquake that happened when Jesus died that backs up the account in the Bible, in addition to other historical records.

Jesus was crucified the next day after the Passover meal known as the last supper.(Wed afternoon). After 3 days and nights He rose from the dead (Saturday). The women went to the tomb just before dawn (Sunday) and Jesus appeared to them. Passover is a yearly celebration not having anything pagan at the beginning of the Hebrew year which is March or April (Spring). The eggs festivities and bunnies today though are pagan in origon.
The bible is historically accurate. The gospels are eyewitness accounts of Jesus. The non biblical account of Jesus was written by Josephus who was Jewish not a Christian and wrote about His crucifixion under the rule of Pilate.

sortof.
EVERYTHING Jesus did coincides with what the majority of people call Jewish holidays. This week in Judaism is Passover. According to Scripture, He rose during this Feast.

you mean besides the last supper being during passover?

and that whole 'easter is taken from the pagans' only works in english, in any other language, easter means something along the lines of paschal or paschual, which come from passover.

From what i've heard from christian friends; no, they don't have records of WHEN jesus rose. if so then they need to speak up and say when the exact date was.

We dont know exactly when Jesus arose. However the date is greatly unimportant. This was just a date chosen to celebrate the fact that He did rise from the dead.

We know that Jesus celebrated Passover with his apostles, instituted the Eucharist then, and was tortured and killed, then rose from the dead.
