and my walls are painted Ralph Lauren's pale yellow, could I use my burgundy and gold bed set and it look fine?

Yes the burgundy will match the red of the mahogany and the gold will make it look very sumptuous. Sounds nice.

I would perfer the walls to be a slightly deeper shade of the yellow,but you can probably get away with it....painting contractor.
