For the suburbanites or for New Yorkers that don't want to deal within the city, Jones Beach, Robert Moses State Park or along the Jersey Shore (Seaside Heights).
For those in the city that don't feel like traveling out to Jones, either the Rockaways or Coney Island or Brighton Beach.
For a HUGE Latino presence...Orchard Beach (The Bronx)

The popular ones are Rockaway, and Jones Beach on Long Island, as well as Sandy Hook, Point Pleasant and others in New Jersey.
There are additional beaches on Long Island Sound and the Jersey shore that many people go to too...

You can go to Orchard Beach and see Latino people having picnics on the sand. They are a sight to behold. With their big pots of rice and beans, fried chicken wings and blaring their loud music. Orchard Beach used to have baby diapers, needles, and baby doodoo floating in the water. But that was years ago. Now, it's cleaned up.
You can also try Jones Beach, Brighton Beach, Coney Island Beach, Far Rockaway. But don't expect to find beautiful blue water. You'll only find yucky brown water here. Personally, I'd rather go to Florida's beaches.

I'm from Long Island (North Shore), but the South Shore has way better beaches. I'd suggest Robert Moses or Jones Beach.

Depends how far we're willing to go. Jersey beaches are a day-trip. Westchester beaches are closer, but a lot of them are private and/or cost money. You can always grab a cheap bus to Atlantic City...I'm not sure how great their beaches are though.

My favorite is Long Beach, NY. You can really go to any of the beaches there, it stretches for miles, and is known for it's very soft sand.

If they live in NY city they are the citidiots, they come out here to long Island they think their sh!t don't stink pollute our water drink excessivly and speed threw our streets. They tend to think the Hamptons have no native or local people with small kids and have turned it into a resort. Or they r going to upstate and doing the same in lake areas. NJersey welcomes them!
