On this day that Jesus rose
Bringing us all fish and loaves
We go to chruch to worship deep
The loving spirit he did reap
For all of us, not just the one
His Work Here is never done.

Some celebrate with eggs and treats
The rituals of Pagan's teats
And to them all our God shall say,
"You shouldn't have done this" Judgement Day.

Others pracitse solemnity
And worship rightly on one knee
The coming of our Saviour Christ
With love and honor, not with vice

For them there shall be paradise
With fruits and bread and lots of rice
Remember not to commit the Seven
And the Lord will welcome you to Heaven!

:) I read this to my daughters and they have each made a copy for themselves and put it in their rooms. I get a lot of flack for not giving my children candy on Easter but they konw the Truth and will be there when St,. Peter opens the gates after the Rapture. They enjoyed the craft of making their own frames for the poem and memerizing it to recite at church. Thanks!

I say "teat" becasue the rituals were sexual in nature. Are you second graders?

Um, so if you eat a chocolate bunny it's all about pagan breasts? Sorry, teats. Please tell me you haven't told your daughters to use such a bovine term when referring to their own mammaries.

The rhyme is forced. The word just has no place in there. It's almost as if you looked for an excuse to mention breasts. Couldn't you have found an udder...um, another rhyme for this tortured meter?

What's this with "fruits and bread and lots of rice?" When the Rapture comes, I guess the Atkins dieters are screwed. Either that or you're driving this strained-rhyme thing into the ground again. Whatever happened to killing the fatted calf?

Actually, it sort of reminds me of the "rice and stuffing, macaroni and cheese" bit from Run-DMC's "Christmas in Hollis."

Anyway, here's a wacky thought: Do you think Jesus would have counseled the writing of such a holier-than-thou verse for the day honoring his death and resurrection? I thought the whole point was to be inclusive. One's daily life, if lived well, is a far more eloquent sermon than this poem.

Don't get your teats in an uproar. Just one guy's opinion.

If we keep the meaning of Easter in our minds and hearts then why not celebrate and have fun. Unless you are thinking about the pagan meaning behind all this stuff as you are doing it there shouldn't be a problem. Parents are probably not thinking about paganism as they hide eggs. ANd children aren't thinking about it as they search. Does it take away from Jesus? Not unless you let it. I bet you hate Christmas celebrations too.

When i give chocolate I am thinking about how the person will enjoy it. Not about pagans. A lot has to do with the thought behind the action.

I believe in God and I can't see him hating chocolate.

Did you at least correct the typos before your poor daughters posted your pathetic substitute for candy on their walls? They're going to hate you when they're grown, obese closet eaters.

I'm with the others: This is soooo funny!

I always like to put the word teat in my children's nursery rhymes! I just know one day I'll have to pay for their therapy because of it but I really think it's worth the joy I find in their faces when I say teat and then laugh histerically.

Interesting rhythm pattern for a serious subject. But, hey, a lot of nursery rhymes are scary when you find out what they are about...
