Can you please pass this word of Christ onto your fellow Christians?

Question

I have decided not to use the word Easter for this great day any more becasue of the following discrepansies in the Bible. Would you please take the time to read the following and understand why it is so important to live today as a godly one, without heathanisitic rituals? Thank you.

"Ye shall observe to do therefore as the LORD your God hath commanded you: ye shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left." Deuteronomy 5:32

"Enquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise. Thou shalt not do so unto the LORD thy God." Deuteronomy 12:30-31

"What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it." Deuteronomy 12:32

"Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen... For the customs of the people are vain." Jeremiah 10:2-3

"Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you" Matthew 28:20

"Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition... Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye." Mark 7:7-13

"Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you" II Corinthians 6:17

"And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues." Revelation 18:4

Thank you. I know the Easter eggs and things are fun for the children but the Death and Resurrection are somber times that should be observed as such. It is a disserveice to God to celebrate Easter in the way many Christians have in the past. Thank you for listening.

Wow I must say I am impressed. A Christian that actually knows and follows the bible. The verses of Mark 7:7-13 was the ones I was trying to think of earlier that relates to christians celebrating their holidays with pagan traditions. Not that I am a christian or follow any organized religion but I must say I am very impressed. Kinda funny how much you learn when you actually read the books huh?

Glory to God on high indeed. What person on earth, Christian or not (just read these boards) doesn't recognize Easter as a Christian holiday celebrating Him who died and rose for us? The last time I checked, I have not seen one Christian worship an egg or bunny, I'm not sure what type of people you've been running into though. The eggs and such are gravy to this great celebration. eggs = new life i.e. new life in Christ through His resurrection. "You strain out the gnat and swallow the camel." Besides, I doubt God cares what we call it, only that we celebrate it. BTW, it was the Catholic Church that began this great celebration.

Holy Friday is a day of mourning; a day when the worlds best hope was murdered. And so many had their faith shaken. But when Jesus fulfilled the promise to arise from the dead the whole world rejoiced. He had returned and brought us back a present---ETERNAL LIFE. If that isn't reason to celebrate what is? Without the resurrection the Christian faith would have ended at the cross instead of beginning at the empty tomb.

FYI: while i applaud your desire to purify your christian practices, it is important to note that without christianity adopting the "heathen practices" some centuries ago, it would not have been wide spread and would have died out just like many of the religions in those days. It's ability to blend with the pagan practices was what made the "heathens" more open to adapting it and very possibly what made it possible that you are christian today

so a techniques as getting political it fairly is a waste of time. that's the devil protecting us busy whilst there are issues to be executed. yet no has a techniques has homosexuality being sin and we could save it out of the church. A church with out sinners is an empty church. what share contributors padded their taxes somewhat, spoke poorly of yet another, replaced into jealous over something their neighbor have been given. Paul: let us not burden the gentiles that be converted by the yoke placed upon our fathers and us that we the chosen people could not aspire to.
