When the innocent people died in the twin towers... I bet you every one of them prayed. It was a hopeless situation and everyone up there surely must have known it. Prayer can give a person courage to face whatever is ahead for them. Prayer can cause one to accept whatever fate awaits them. Prayer in completely hopeless situations is not the end of life... but the beginning of the afterlife.
Life as we know it is a test for what awaits us in the future. We all will die... the question is will we be prepared to meet that fate when it comes to us?

Prayer is nothing more than hope put into words. It won't work.
Nothing is hopeless. Try to look at the situation from a different perspective. Everything will change if given time.
Try saying "This, too, will pass" every half hour or so.
Then sit back and do a little "brainstorming" to find ways to help the situation.

As a Child of God, I know things are never hopeless. When we are fooled into thinking they are, that is a sign we are not completely dependent on God. The Lord promises, that if we remain hopeful...faithful...he will restore that which we ask twice as much.
Zechariah 9:12 states:
"Return to your fortress, O PRISONERS OF HOPE; even now I announce that I will restore twice as much to you."
The above scripture applies to Saints of the past and today. Thus, to answer your question, in time of need, for any reason, I pray to the same God that Abraham, Moses, David, and other men of Faith prayed to in their time of need.
Our Heavenly Father as described in scripture, has always answered my prayers, and had the wisdom to know, when what I've prayed for, was not what I needed.
Blessings, Miji

Nothing is impossible with God. When you think it is completely hopeless, then God is up to something. Keep praying, but get ready and anticipate something will happen soon. When I am totally out of myself, then God steps in and makes everything alright.

Jesus Christ. He speaks to God the Father on your behalf. Prayers to any other are in vain. That's the uncompromising truth my dear. Is something going on your life that you feel is hopeless? I will pray for you.

You pray to God using his personal name "Jehovah" in Jesus name. Jesus himself taught us how to pray at Matt. 6:9 “ you must pray, then, this way: “‘Our FATHER (who is the Father? Jehovah) in the heavens, let YOUR NAME be sanctified. Let your kingdom come. Let your will take place, as in heaven, also upon earth." Prayers should not be directed to Jesus the Bible calls God "the hearer of prayer" (Ps. 65:2)

The same god I pray to when things are great. There are not two different gods to pray to for the good or bad. You pray for help and he gives it.May not be the answer we wanted but if it works.........................You shouldn't wait to pray only when things are bad....God likes to hear the good stuff too.

when things get so bad and seems so hopless thats when I cry out to Jesus, thats when I lay it down at the foot of the Cross and I walk away..When I see nothing but dark clouds around me I cry out and the Light shines in on me..The darkness will only last a short time when you cry out to Jesus, and then His Light will shine upon you..Blessings
