do you think it will be something technological like a chip or something? we all know what the number is, but what will the mark look like? anyone wanna guess?

A friend of my husband has been researching this topic for some time.... he has found out that they have a micro chip (either they are making it or it is already done, can't remember) that can be inserted to your hand or your head... one the left side which there is some tech reason for that but again I don't remember all the details.... anyway it either is or will be available to the super rich in the future. It is ment to replace credit cards and cash... I am sure there were more reasons for it but that is the main reason for it.
If I can find a link I will be back to add it to my answer.
Anyway I think that it will be the mark of the beast if there is to be one. =)

The bible said 666. It is not a physical sign...
7 is the symbol of perfection in the bible. The sign of the beast, 6 falls one number short of seven so it is imperfect. Repeated 3 times shows the gravity of its imperfection. 3 is man's number.
With those, we can say that the beast is an imperfect human, yes, a human entity not spirit or demons, it fell short of God's standard...Why is it described so? Because the beast was playing God's role, it claims that it is the only hope for mankind, that it can remove the suffering man has but it cant...and for this, God has seen it gravely imperfect.

It is generally accepted that John of Patmos wrote Revelations in the immediate aftermath of Nero's persecution following the burning of the Coliseum,and that the cryptic references to The Beast refer to Nero. You've been reading too many paperback novels geared toward the fundamentalist market.

It was a coin stamped by the Roman Empire nearly 2,000 years ago bearing the image and name of Nero.
Nero declared himself a god and demanded tribute money in the form of taxes. This chapped the hides of the Christians, as they were forced to use the coins to buy things, which was the same as tithing to Nero.
It was all over and done with long before you were born.
