For me, i got baptise in August 15, 2004 and back then i am the only catholic in my family of 4.

My mum gave up going mass a year as she felt god doesn't answer her prayers and i stopped praying for her altogether. a year later we experience tremendous hardship in our family and that was when she knee and come back to god and agree to baptise willingly and it took me by surprise. we did persuade my dad since 2004 but he just wouldn't want to. That event suppose to kill us as most other family would be such but over the past 2 years god shielded us from the crooks. in restrospect, though it is harsh, but god has allowed it to happen else my parents won't turn to god.

interestingly i notice a trait that is though he grumbles alot but he does listen to my mum and seeing that she taking the class, he too, followed 3 mths later. yesterday they baptised together and i never expect my dad such.

god does hear the many prayers our friends earnestly prayed in their heart :=) Cheers.

God hears all the prayers of the righteous. But consider the following:

A Christian hunter is hunting bears in the woods. While walking up a hill he grabs a branch for leverage and it breaks sending the hunter tumbling down the hill, gun flying off elsewhere. When the hunter dusts himself off he sees a huge bear charging him. The hunter begins running, but trips and falls, landing on his knees. Seizing the opportunity, and being a good Christian, the hunter begins to pray, "Lord, make this bear a Christian."

The woods are quiet, the hunter turns and, Hallelujah! He sees the bear on his knees, paws together, praying! Listening, he hears the bear praying, "Father, bless this food to my body."

The key message here is that God answers prayers of the righteous, but the answer you get may not be the answer you want, but it will always be the right answer. Prayer is a coming to God, telling Him your need (or the need of others), committing your way unto the Lord, and then leaving God to deal with the case as seems best to Him.

How should one pray to God?

I speak to God in the same manner as I write these words to you now. That is, I have a plain conversation (no “thou’s” “thine’s”, “thy’s”!) with Him each day, usually out under the stars late at night as my family sleeps. My prayers are conversations that follow a pattern. I start every prayer with the following: "Most merciful God, not my will, but yours, be done." I repeat that phrase often during my prayers. Sometimes I will do so for tens of times just to quiet my mind and make it open to hearing from my Creator.

Use the following pattern in all your prayers and you will see them answered: Adoration, Contrition, Thanksgiving, and Supplication. See the links below for more information. (acronym: ACTS)

Many people view an “answered prayer” as God granting a prayer request that is offered to Him. If a prayer request is not granted, it is often understood as an unanswered prayer. However, this an incorrect understanding of prayer. God answers every prayer that is lifted to Him. What we have to remember is that sometimes God answers "no" or "wait." God only promises to grant our prayers when we ask according to His will. 1 John 5:14-15 tells us, “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us - whatever we ask - we know that we have what we asked of Him.”

Sometimes we humans are selfish,we only think about whats good for us,pray and ask for things we wanted in life...we sometimes forget to thank God...if we dont get what we wanted we blame God,isnt that unfair?to be able to live and breath is one great thing to think of...though to live is hard because we have to work and earn for our living...God listens to every ones prayer, just have more faith...

I believe God answers immediately. Sometimes He says wait.

God answers prayer in His time - not ours. Diligently seek Him to answer your prayer. Persistance gets your prayer answered. We are told to pray without ceasing.
