It isn't fair that atheists mainly target Christianity and the other religions slip under the radar.

I also think that inserting ANY religion into the government isn't something we should be doing. After all, it's violating the US constitution.
Just believe what you believe and don't force your beliefs on anyone else.

I question ALL religions. However Christians are the people who are mainly here so I question or answer them more.

First of all, I think what they target is a certain "type" of Christianity, but some reasons for that are:

Exactly what you said about the Constitution--you'd be surprised to know how many Christian fundamentalist think that the part about keeping religion out of the law only applies to "other" religions. Buddhists don't have the numbers or the inclination to enforce their beliefs on everyone through law.

Secondly, a lot of athiests grew up in Christian homes or surrounded by Christianity. They KNOW the lies, contradictions, evasions and practices of Christianity. It's like the proverb about the poacher and the gameskeeper.

If others had your attitude about not trying to force their religion on me, I'd be very happy.

I suspect that christians get the brunt of the attention from atheists because they are the largest of the worlds religions, at least in the countries with the most internet access. But I think that a lot of atheists would gladly take a "live and let live" attitude if they could.

Maybe it's cause Christianity is a hoax.

As for other religions, I don't know much about them.

The idea that Jesus got up after being dead three days, and started walking around like nothing ever happen; and then rose into the sky and became a god -- that is patently absurd, and it is the foundation of a whole system of absurdities.

I was taught that nonsense as a kid, so that's why I ask or answer questions about it today.

In the West, of course most religious debate will focus on Christianity, because the great majority of Westerners are Christians. The same goes for this website (i.e., there are a lot more Christians than people from other religions).

Because Christianity is the dominant religion in Europe, America, and this website. Quite a few atheists also take the occasional stab at Islam.

We don't believe in any religion. But most of us have first-hand experience with christianity or used to be christian ourselves, and there are more christians on here than any other religion.

We're not forcing religion on anyone. Atheism is the lack of religion. This is a secular country. Christians are the ones trying to pass laws based on their beliefs, not us.

There are alot of decent answers I have read but myself, being a Christian, think that most people including atheists fear the message that we have.Man created religion but Jesus Christ created the world and a message that lives and will never die.Knowing in your heart you are right, goes a long way and living what you believe.

Because most of the questions directed TOWARD atheists, come from Christians. Most are condescending in tone, and we feel the need to respond.
Besides Christianity is the largest religion in the U.S.
Though I will reply to any question directed at atheists from any religion.

p.s. " I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours."- Stephen F. Roberts

I don't think it is so much as targeting, I think it is more, "What goes round comes round." Christians tend to condemn atheists as godless, going-straight-to-hell people, whereas other religions are more a live-and-let-live belief. Christians, more than any faith I know of, with the possible exception of Islam, are the first to condemn, the first to cast stones, the first to judge...all of which flies in the face of what Chistians preach. Perhaps it boils down to a simple explanation....self defense!
