I was driving in a construction zone at night when there was no workers. I am wondering if I have a double on my ticket for getting an infraction in a construction zone.

Note: I had a speeding ticket for driving 20 miles over also I did not have insurance and registration papers in my car. But I do have my car registered and insured under me.

Depends on where you got it. Many construction zones only double fines when workers are present, while others do not. Your responsible for reading the signs within these zones.

Other construction zones Quadruple fines... Example: Fines doubled in speed zones of 65 plus, then doubled again in construction zones, ( these construction zones are located within what is normally a 65 zone).

BOTTOM Line....don't speed through construction zones...period. Spaces are minimized, if you are travelling beside a commercial vehicle in a tight zone, and it blows a steer tire, the odds of survival just dropped by over 50%

It will depend on a a state to state basis. In all states I know of, it does,

If you recieved a ticket on the registration and on the insurance just take the proof to court and it will be dismissed.

also in our states the POINTS also double in a construction zone.

In ky, yes. Even if they are not working at the time, there is usually equipment around causing hazards and a lot of the time, there are barriers which cause it to be dangerous when changing lanes.

yes because you are putting the workers in danger if you are breaking any traffic laws......the same goes for a school zone
