Prayer is asking God to intervene on your life to bring about a wanted change. Keeping in mind that "God helps those who help themselves", you're still expected to take advantage of the opportunities that God provides based on your prayer. Magic is sending energy out into the universe with a specific intention to bring about change in your life. It can involve a deity or not, but it's an attempt to influence the forces in the universe to align in a way that you can get what you need. The main difference between prayer and magic is cultural, but they essentially attempt to accomplish the same thing. Early Christians were mystical in nature and even modern pagans can be said to pray.

A prayer is directly asking God for something - a direct communication. Also a prayer can be thanking God or just talking to God about life in general. There is no middle man - you are relying on God to provide what you need.
For spells - you are directly influencing the energy of the universe for a very specific outcome. A spell may involve invoking the help of a deity - but you are still making the goal happen. Such as a Wiccan Spell for money - you would have green candles, herbs that symbolize money/wealth, money itself and prayers/mediations to help you focus on getting what you need. You build and then release the energy towards that goal. You are doing the work. It is not God(s) providing but you.
A lot of people say that prayer and spell work are one in the same. They are not. They are two entirely different creatures.

Magic is when you mix elements together to do something supernatural, like mixing salt and bat's blood to make a girl love you. Prayer is meditation, it focuses on your energy and the energy of a greater power- most religions have some form of prayer- it's one the of the most constants of all groups out there.

I think the prayer has the most effective magic spell .I test it all times and always it work but needs Patience

Prayer means that you are talking to God and i can't really explain a magic spell. cause magic spells don't exist. it's just something off of Harry Potter. lol
