Yeah, when i used to be christian, I had so many questions unanswered and it drove me crazy. I was tied down in going to church where everyone was going just because of faith. In fact, I was the kid in my bible class who would always ask questions like, "Where did god come from?" or "Why are there so many poor people in Asia and Africa that are going to die because they don't believe in Jesus?" or worse "Why is my grandpa (who died when i was 10) going to hell if he helped special ed kids all his life and donated a ton to them? was it because he was Buddhist?"Then I opened my eyes and finally realized that people have the same faith and miracles in all other religions, thus not making Christianity any better than the rest... except maybe Scientology. I can definitely say that being an atheist really makes me appreciate all the other religions... except Scientology

It is easier for some. Believing in God also has its advantages. I was a Christian for 10 years of my life and a lot of things made sense viewed through the lense of Christendom. Unfortuantely (as the Bible even admits) the Christian life is not easy. It seems easier if you surround yourself with like-minded people. But then again ANYTHING is that way! Eternal questions may be better understood, but since Christianity's path by definition is narrow it often comes at the expense of other people's beliefs. I am an agnostic now and my mind is much clearer and I am now more accepting of other people's views and opinions. If I had it to do over again I would definately NOT choose Christianity, however I have just this one life (that I know of) to live and am glad I learned the truth: that living the Christian life is unfulfilling and full of empty promises and circular reasoning. Unfortunately it took me ten years to find this out! Athiesm may be just as empty for you too...I find that accepting that we probably will never learn the whole truth is the most satisfying and honest way to be. That's called agnosticism.

Athiests argue that they don't need a God but there is early evidence that man is a God Seeker in the sense that the universe is lonely without a supreme presence. It's definitely much easier to produce evidence of a God ordered universe than life springing from an accident, a big bang, or "luck."
Einstein postulated that "God does not play dice with the universe."
It makes no sense at all to assume that there is no evidence for God when the evidence is everywhere around us, inside us, very much a part of the human and animal kingdom, and everywhere we look.
I disagree with much of christian teaching, I hate the judgmerntalness of it all, the hypocracy, greed and cross cultural hatred. But God doesnt start or stop wars, or slay one force and leave another standing, God does not interfere because that is to deny us free will. We can't have it both ways. Free will, and when we screw up, God jumps in to make it all better. How could God let this happen is a copout and denies mans responsibility for evil deeds and satan is not at fault. Satan is us. We do it. Athiests are free and entitled to their belief but are no less or more responsibile for making a mess of things than the christians.
Life is not easy. It doesn't matter who you are. Whatever we choose in life is difficult but I choose God because it brings me comfort when I realize how confoundedly unreliable, stupid, and pig-headed man can be. God provides another path
that never changes, is all comforting, and gives the spirit aliveness, imagination that can only be decribed as cosmic. (read talmud or psalms, or the Koran, it's all the same). Man can sing and praise, and build and grow things, love and raise children, and die with dignity. Of course this isn't always true but can be achieved. History is full of examples.

Life is not really made "easier" by being atheist, but there are many advantages to it that I feel are beneficial.

1. I get to think for myself. This has the advantage of letting you make your own decisions for your life including your purpose for it.

2. I don't have to worry about trying to reconcile my beliefs with reality. Reality IS my beliefs, not the other way around like with religions. No matter what science says is factual I get to automatically accept the evidence for what it is telling us. I don't have to dismiss reality in order to maintain a delusion.

3. I get to sleep in on Sundays.

Why would it be easier, because you wouldn't be answering to an imaginary deity anymore? It's harder. You have to actually think. You have to be realistic. If you wrong someone, you have to answer to yourself, and the other person, maybe the law, up close and personal, you get no forgiveness from a god. If you want something, you don't get to pray for it, you have to get up and make it happen. You have to educate yourself so you don't walk through life accepting everything you're told on blind faith. You have to accept death and deal with it. You have to accept life and make the most of it. No, it isn't easier.

Life is easier being altruistic, compassionate, intelligent and wise... no matter what religion or philosophy you follow. I'm Buddhist and basically "atheist" myself (i.e. I don't believe in the concept of an omnipotent creator being).

Your life will be much easier if you truly submit it to Christ because he will take care of everything for you. At least make sure your needs are taken care of and if there is no good reason to not give you something you want then he will take care of that too!!! Plus you will have available to you all of the things of heaven and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, a friend who is never too busy for you! If you would like any more information/conversation,exc. feel free to email/IM me.

No, it's harder.

But is it easier for a drug addict to stay addicted or to clean up?

Same thing.

Being honest with yourself about the world you live in is its own reward.
