I don't say that. I say Jesus (at best) WAS. Not IS, WAS. God and Heaven do not exist, and the jury's still out on whether of not Jesus even did.

Jesus had to die because, as it says in the Book of Hebrews:
Hebrews 9:22
In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.
When Adam sinned, the curse of death entered into the world. Jesus' death on the cross, which involved the shedding of blood, and his glorious resurrection won the victory over death for His adopted children--the elect. The resurrection of Jesus Christ proved that death is not the end!
Unlike what the VAST majority of Christians believe (the Arminian view of general atonement), Jesus did not die for the sins of every person; he died only for the elect--those who place their trust in his sacrifice to pay for their sins (the Calvinist view of particular atonement). If Jesus died for everyone's sins, then everyone would be saved because their sin-debt would have been paid.
The only people who go to heaven are those whom the triune God has saved. God the Father elected a group of people to be saved before the beginning of time, God the Son died for them, and God the Holy Spirit gave each of them a new nature whereby they became, in time, the adopted children of God.
Happy Easter...He is risen!

He did not have to sacrifice Himself, He chose to do it. It is the part of God's unfolded plan.
All the good people do not go to heaven, but all the forgiven people go to heaven. When He forgives, we are not sinners anymore. It is not a "little mistake" to deny Him. : )

Every person ever born is a sinner. In order for you to go to Heaven if you are old enough to choose right from wrong, is to accept the sacrifice that Jesus made when HE died and rose again.

Jesus is not God. He was the "son" of God, what that truly means will be debated forever. I think that he taught lessons that were in the spirit of God. These lessons were not actually "God's words", but instead what he believed were the right. He like many others was trying to disolve what it was to be a man umongst others in the world he saw.

Jesus is not God. And you are right, if Jesus was God then
his payment of the "ransom" would not be "corresponding" to Adam. It would have been an over-payment so to speak. That's why God sent his only begotten son (John 3:16) not himself "in order that everyone EXERCISING faith (not just having faith but having the works to back up that faith) in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life"

Jesus died on the cross to atone for our sins. He followed the will of His Father. This act was the ultimate show of love -- to lay down your life for a friend.
"The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life--only to take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord......this command I received from my Father. "
John 10: 17 --18
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only
Son , that whoever believes in Him,shall not perish but have eternal life... . Jn 3:16
If we repent of our sins, and believe that Christ is our Lord and Savior--have a relationship with Him --- we will go to heaven.
Jesus said : ... " I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. If you really know Me, you will know my Father as well....."
Jn 14: 6 -- 7

If you want to go to heaven, you have to accept Jesus Christ into your heart and believe that He died for our sins. Jesus said "I am the truth and the life". No one comes to the Father except through Me.
