He will have to repent for killing the man and also forgive him. If he truly is close to God or becomes close to God then I believe that God will show this guy what he is doing wrong and what he did do wrong and it is up to him weather he makes things right with God or not. If he does not forgive this guy or repent of his sins then he has something between him and God. If he truly loves God then he will be sorry for killing someone that God loves (since God loves everyone) and will especially be sorry because he did not tell this guy about Christ and if he wouldn't have been killed he may have then had a chance to learn about Christ and accept him into his life. We all mess up and despite our views God's view is that no sin is greater than another. I am sorry to have to say things this way so I hope you truly understand what I am talking about.

Oh,for Heaven's sake, have a heart. The man is only human. I'm sure a wise and beneficent God will understand and forgive him. Why would anyone imagine otherwise? It's such a ghastly crime to be the victim of; and he is a victim,as much as his late daughter. I've worked a lot with survivors of murder victims. Believe me,they are victims too. I don't approve of Viking justice, but I can't believe God would not forgive this man's transgression, given the circumstances. Religion and commonsense go well together; leave the man to his own heart, and let God judge him.

Jesus says that when you confess and REPENT away from your sins then you will be forgiven. But, I think your friend needs to forgive the man and pray to ask for forgiveness, otherwise, the murder is still a sin with no cover-up.

I have no desire to take over the job of the GREAT JUDGE. But given what we know in scripture and the Old Testament scriptures where the community was charged with the execution of justice he gets a free pass.

I often ask myself why do we need God when most of us have already judged others.

These things are in the hands of God. Why do we think we have to control everything? We are so often wrong when we judge but we never learn that some people are not guilty, or we don't know alol the story, or a thousand other things. Let God Decide. It will make your life easier.

God's sense of right and wrong is not created in the image of humanity's sense of right and wrong.

In Christianity, Jesus paid the price for the sins of the whole world. And, if you break any commandment, then you have not kept the commandments, period. Either you are perfect or you are not. There is no middle ground with God. None of us is perfect. Who are you, who probably murders through character assassination as you are doing here, to judge and who is anyone else to judge? To set oneself up as judge is the original sin of putting oneself in the place of God.

He must accept Jesus as Lord. Only God knows for sure.

all we can do is to continue to pray for him and never let go a day without doing so. i often hear people ASSUMING their loved ones go to heaven and stop there. god will ulitmately be the judge but our prayers may make a long way for his soul.

I believe that no, forgiveness its the door to heaven. Unless he is ashame dof his action, he might not go to heaven. Tell him to talk about this with the father.
