Or is it just the Norton Anti-Virus?
I know Norton products are bad, but I really need a firewall. Should I keep Norton or get a whole new firewall?
If I should get a new firewall, what brand do you recommend?

I'm using Norton internet security that's anti-virus and firewall my computer runs just fine no slow ups or any problems whatsoever folders open instantly programs start quickly and the boot from start to the desktop is only about a one and a half minutes, when idling the processor usage is less than 4%

Anything extra like a firewall and anti-virus will make your computer run a little slower. If you don't understand firewalls very well, then I would just keep Norton. If you undertand firewalls, there is a rewally good free one from Zone Alarm at zonelabs.com.
