Yes, it was an accident. I filed electronically yesterday. Can I re-file?
If I do re-file, would I do it 100% over again, or just the K1 to report the income from a partnership?

You'll have to file an amended return (1040X for the federal, and whatever form applies to your state); you basically file your full return again but you also add the K-1 and give a brief explanation on the 1040X. Unfortunately, 1040X cannot be filed electronically.

Details and the 1040X are below. Good luck! :-)

You will have to file an amended federal return, 1040X, and also quite possibly a state amended return as well. And unfortunately, the 1040X has to be paper filed, not electronically filed. What you will need to do on the 1040X is report the return as originally filed, and the adjustments, and come up with either additional tax, or a refund.

You can't re-file the return, you must file an amended return on Form 1040X.

Since you efiled, you will have to file an amendment on paper. Go ahead and let your original filing go through. Re-file on paper and write on the top "amended filing" and resend it. Keep in touch with them to make sure they got it. I have had to send in many amended filings. If you get a refund check on the original file, don't cash it or you will owe interest. Call the IRS and tell them you have to amend it and ask what you should do with the check.
