l would like to reclass as a recruiter, lm an engineer and been in the Army for for two years... two more to go, lm an E4 and l was wondering if l could reclass as a recruiter so l can get stationed in Las Vegas but l dont know the requirements.

Not positive about the Army, but usually you need more time in than 2 years to be a Recruiter. 2 years doesn't bring the full level of experience you need to be a good recruiter. Also they usually require pay grades of E5 and above, again for experience sake. Another thing, if you are selected the probability of choosing exactly where you go is slim, especially when you jump up and say you want to go to Vegas. The Army may also require that you have so many years of active duty time in before allowing you to be a recruiter. If the Army is like the rest of the branches you aren'r reclassing as a recruiter but rather asking for special duty to be a recruiter, kind of like boot camp drill instructors or school instructors. The job is for a specific period of time not forever like your MOS. Talk to someone senior to you to get the real story if you can do this or not. IT IS A LOT OF WORK being a recruiter. You work more hours recruiting than you ever would doing anything else. Good Luck.
