The most common reason for drooling are gum or teeth disorders. Also oral ulcers can cause excessive drooling. Some cats drool when nervous or stressed or just plain happy. If the drool is excessive or if you are concerned then contact your Vet.
There are other causes of drooling as well. These are ingestion of a noxious or poisonous substance, ingestion of a flea control product, or if your pet is nauseated. If you think your pet came into contact with a toxic substance you need to call your Vet or Animal Poison Control immediately. (888) 426-4435.

Most people think only dogs drool, but cats can too. The most benign reason would be that some cats drool when they are happy, relaxed and purring. There shouldn't be any unpleasant odor and they should still be grooming as they normally would. A cat that has suddenly started drooling could be a sign of a toxin or irritant ingestion, or perhaps an injury, such as biting into an electrical cord.
For a cat that has gradually stopped good grooming habits or has a poor hair coat, one possible explanation is if the cat is overweight -- they simply can't reach everywhere like they used to. Poor nutrition and some hormonal or metabolic diseases can also cause poor condition of the skin and haircoat.

look you it would have been helpfull if you had given us some more info but i have cat named Calvin and he drools when he is happy but at the same time it can mean something is wrong...i just lost another cat Angel to posion he drooled alot in the days before...if you have any questions i suggest taking the poor cat to a vet as soon as you can or if you can afford it then talk to the vets and see if there is something you can do to help pay them back....it could also be that the cat needs to have its teeth cleaned or it has...dont laugh but a kitty version of Strep throat and it hurts cats alot if he/she goes off food you need to get it to a vet.....no regardless the animal should go to a vet and get checked over. good luck to you and your kitty.

I agree with Brandie and NosyD, they know what they are talking about.
This is usually caused by something they ate, a plant perhaps. If you have house plants, many of them are very poisonous to cats and dogs.
It would be best to check with your vet. Better safe then sorry.

sometimes, cats tend to drink more water and they get to hydrated and they start drooling everywhere. Maybe it would be a good idea if you looked over your cat with his drinking habits. Thats what i did with mine and gave him less water.

It's a sign of bad teeth. Take her to the vet for a teeth cleaning treatment and then brush her teeth daily.
