I asked a similar question a minute ago. I believe I will get better answers if I include some of the embarrassing deatils.

This happens when I am on top, and not with positons where I don't have to do much work. I am fine untill I get up and start to look for my clothes. It starts out as my ears ringing and then the ringing goes away and I can't hear anything, my vision becomes spotted like I just got a hundred camera flashes at me and then goes dark, but I can still see, its just as if all the lights were turned out. At that point, if I haven't sat down I'll fall, and I'll be like that, deaf and almost blind for 5 minutes or so, all the while there is a strange painful sensation in my chest and head, and my skin tingles. It is so scary, Every time it happens I fantasize that I am about to die, and it scares my boyfriend as well.

What could this possibly be and what is the most eloquent way to bring this up to my doctor and express my concern without coming off as a hypochondrac

I experience similar reactions and, oddly enough, only in certain positions.

Positions that require "more work" and generally a more intense sensation can cause your body to lose itself and determine this. Due to the intense and fast breathing, your body reacts as if you've ran two blocks from a mugger, and the exhaustion can cause dizziness or even nausea. Although there's no treatment for this (you might have a substance deficit that can be an adequate premise for your reaction), I would recommend leaving the positions that cause the black-outs at the end of the intercourse, so that they don't interfere with the intimacy. After you're both "done", you can lie down for a few more minutes to regain your normal breathing rhythm. Besides, a little after-sex cuddling never hurt anyone :)

If you are however worried and feel that you need to get medical help, and if you're to embarrassed to confess to your doctor with these details, you can also describe a very intense physical effort (like long jogs) that cause your problem, since it is the physical effort, and not sex itself that makes you react this way. Good luck :)

It is a vaso vagal reaction.
The vagas nerve controls sex, as well as your digestion. If it gets excited then it slows breathing and drops your blood pressure and heart rate. We'll surmise that you got it excited, as well you should have. Actually, it is probably telling you that your body had a great time.

When you got up, your heart couldn't respond quickly enough to increase blood pressure.
Drugs such as nitroglycerine and viagra will do similar things (they should not be taken together without a doctor's advice).

Basically, your body is still in need of some rest at that point until the nerve has time to settle down. Best suggestion is to enjoy the moment a bit longer.
Your doctor will be quite familiar with this particular problem. It's actually a feature of being human.

Have your BP checked. Tell your doctor. It sounds like your blood supply to the brain gets a little low. Drink a glass of water afterwards, or Just lie back and relax for a bit afterwards. The same thing happens to some people when lifting weights. The blood goes to the part getting the attention. The water goes into your blood within seconds and replaces the deficet.

It sounds like you are just overexerting yourself. This exact thing happens to me sometimes when I take long, hot showers or try to do physical activity before I have had a meal or something to drink. If you are very concerned, you can always check with your doctor.

this can happen after orgasms for a few seconds or minutes, but if it happens everytime then maybe you have vertigo, a condition in which your balance is comprimised. go to your doctor and check it out.

is it that good? I think you just wok yourself up so much, and then stand up so quick that the blood rushed to your head, and you will faint it you dont sit down...next time try laying down after you finish...and let your heartbeat slow down before you stand up
