i need to know if my computer is capable of running directx 7.0 for a game.

click on start | run | type in : dxdiag
this will let you see your directx version

Or you can run DXDIAG (start / run / type in 'dxdiag' w/o the quotes / hit run) and follow the prompts.

click start, run,
Type Dxdiag,
go to direct x tab and it will tell you.
