Can we ever learn to respect and appreciate one another's beliefs?

Can we ever learn to let go of our petty differences of dogma, and realize that we are all celebrating that which is Divine?

It would be lovely. Unfortunately, there are too many mainstream faiths that believe their way is the only way, and will not accept anyone else's beliefs as valid.

Absolutely they can and it happens ever day and more often than you would think.
The problem is we never hear about it. The media prefers telling us stories of people of different beliefs in conflict instead of working together.
They love to tell us stories of hatred and fighting not the wonderful stories of people of different beliefs and different faiths living and working side by side in harmony.
Look around you and you will probably find examples in your own community.
If we all just take the time to look and be part of that interaction ourselves.

Yes. I believe there will come a time when we will all live together in peace. I personally believe that when the millenium comes, there will still be people of many different faiths on the earth, but that everyone will be mature enough to live in peace with each other. It is sad that today there is so much immaturity that we cannot live in peace with those who believe differently than we do. But, once we develop a mature understanding of the nature of peace, we will be able to live in peace.

We do, it's called Urban America where you have personal days you can use to get paid for religious holidays. You get paid for national holidays even if you don't understand why we celebrate Thanksgiving or the 4th of July. If your religion requires you to have a beard, today it's allowed everywhere. If you religion requires you to wear a turnbin or hat, it's generally allowed everywhere.

The Bible warns against this. I believe if you truly follow your religion, then there will be problems... one wanting to convert the other.
