If you like both, be a pastry chef/baker. There's a lot of chemistry involved in creating a good baked good. You have to know how each ingredient is going to interact with another. When halving a recipe for baked goods, it's sometimes not advisable to simply cut each ingredient in half. You have to take the interactions into account or you could end up with something that doesn't rise or is too dry, etc.

You could look into a food science and nutrition degree. You have to have a lot of chem for that degree, and it's fascinating to know how food reacts to others. The nutrition degree is also a good foot in the door to high level cooking positions. So you'd be in the best of both worlds, and then can decide if you want to become a full-fledged chef.

I have a perfect solution-be a chemist that creates more natural stuff to be used in food-the stuff currently used as preservatives, colorings and flavorings are toxic garbage-look at some of the ingredients used in food, such as carmine which is made from crushed red beatles-why not dried beetroot? More natural, less gross, and totally better for you. You could do the world a huge service if you came up with better solutions to whats in our food! Good luck, think of me when you are rich, famous, and revered by all!
