Look at what your vehicle requirements are and then go from there. I can tell you most everyone that has owned a truck finds that they can not live W/O one but people who have owned a car can live W/O one.

I think you should get the Mustang if you like that. Since you say you've already had one if you like it then go for it. I have a 2006 Mustang and I love it! Since you work at a Ford dealer you've had exposure to both cars. Just think though. If your current Mustang worked well for what you needed it for then a new Mustang is going to be basically the same thing only newer, so you should definitely go with it! And not to mention all of the compliments you will recieve driving a cool car like that! I'm sure I don't need to lecture you on Mustangs LoL. :-)

It all depends on what your looking for. Either of these cars you arent going to get the best gas mileage with the V-8's. If you are looking for something sporty and fast that you will be able to mod and do things to you want the Mustange. If its for work or something like that you would want the truck, you could also mod this truck they do offer a lot but not as much as the Mustang. If it were me I wouldnt get either of these cars I would get a Japanese car such as a Civic, or a Lancer, or a Subaru WRX STi. All of these cars are just as fast as the Mustange and all offer many more mods and they are easier to work on(because of all the aftermarket following.) After all that I would say the STi.

If your a Ford Fan, then either are great choices. Once, you've owned a mustang, it would be hard to go to a 4x4 truck. The truck is a lot bigger, uses more gas, harder to park, etc. But, if you need a 4x4 truck I'd say the F150 is the way to go..

It really is all about what you need. If you plan to do hauling, offroad, and work, then the F-150 4X4 is the choice for you. However, if you aren't doing any of that stuff and just driving or transporting family, then the Mustang would be the better choice. Either way, you must really think about what you truly need. Best wishes!!!

Do your homework. Check out all the dealerships or go online to find out the information of what cars interest you. Also, to get the best deal, check the Kelley Blue Book or Nada websites. Many of times, the car prices are padded, so car salesmen get the best commissions. The sticker price on the car isn't always true to form. You are allowed to ask for the manufacturer's or dealer cost price. Do your homework on your trade also. They will try to rip you off on the trade. Blue Book info is helpful here too. Do not buy the first year of a model, because they still haven't worked all the bugs out yet. Some cars turn out to be lemons or have so many recalls that the cars cost more than they are worth having. If you can, bring a qualified mechanic with you or ask the salesman if you can bring the car to your mechanic to check it out. Make sure you make an appointment with your mechanic if he/she can't go with you. Car salesmen HATE women who have a clue about cars and they will tend to give you the best price if you know what you're talking about. Good luck!

can you parallel park a big 4x4. if the answer is no prob than go with that. as for power the mustang is the same as the big trucks but it takes less gas to get up to speed witch means if you have a heavy foot the truck will use more gas to push it. also if you are short in height you may not see that low riding mustang in front of you. test drive both to see which one suit's you.

Think about your needs and any hobbies that you may have.

Do you only need a vehicle for a grocery getter? Get the Mustang.
Do you need to haul food for animals or firewood?
Get the truck...
Do you need the 4WD? Or just want it...?
The 4WD is a constant drag on the driveline, whether it is engaged or not. More drag equals less fuel economy.

If I were in a similar situation, I would forget about the 4WD, and get the entry level diesel truck. (F250?) with 3.73 or 3.55 gears in the "pumpkin"
Fuel to fuel, Diesel gets better fuel mileage, and can work harder longer, PLUS, the alternative fuels are on the verge of exploding on our economy. Biodiesel will become the norm, rather than the exception.

I have a 1986 F350 crewcab with the 6.9 diesel, with no major engine work, and it always starts!
As soon as I start working again, I will continue working on getting it the way I want it. (such as dump-bed, 5 speed manual over the 4 speed, 3.73 instead of the 4.10's, hood scoop for my high flow filter, console bench seat instead of the work crew low back bench seats, and last but not least, black with pearl paint)

Hey, I did the same thing. Loved the Stang vert, but it was impractical. The Crew cab King Ranch 4X4 is a lot better. It's not as fast or as cool, but if I need to haul something, then I'm ready. The gas mileage was better with the Stang, but I had a habit of putting my foot down just to hear the engine roar. Good luck.

It depends on what you need. The f-150 goes anywhere and can carry cargo but has bad gas mileage. The Mustang looks great, has better gas mileage and drives great. But if you live in a snow prone area, you'll spin your wheels in three inches of snow.

Well the big question is this... Do i like to go off road or have my street fun? I was faced with a similar problem. But my family needs helped me make that choice. If you got a 2wd F-150 you still could do some "go fast " parts to it and use it on and off the road.
