A true Christian is a person who has put his or her faith and trust in the person of Jesus Christ and fact that He died on the cross as payment for sins and rose again on the third day to obtain victory over death and to give eternal life to all who believe in Him. John 1:12 tells us: “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.” A true Christian is indeed a child of God, a part of God’s true family, and one who has been given new life in Christ. The mark of a true Christian is love for others and obedience to God’s Word (1 John 2:4; 1 John 2:10).

a true Christian is one who is saved by grace. If you want to be saved know the Gospel in a capsule (the words heaven, eternal life, and salvation will be used interchangeably):

1. Heaven is a free gift, it is not earned or deserved.

2. Man is a sinner and cannot save Himself.

3. God is loving and merciful, but He is also just and must punish sin.

4. God sent Jesus Christ as the answer. Christ took the punishment for our sin while we go free of punishment. Here, mercy and justice find harmony...
(mercy- God sent Jesus to suffer for your sin so you didn't have to be punished.
justice- God punished Jesus because He took on your sins as you go free.)

5. Salvation (from sin) and eternal life are received through saving faith. Accept Jesus' gift and let Him take control of your life.

Jesus said that to see the Kingdom of God, you must be born again. Born of His Spirit, cleansed by His Blood, joint heirs with King Jesus, part of the family of God.

When one is a born of God, one knows God is on their side. If God be for us, then who can be against us. God, gives us blessed assurance all the time.

Each person has to answer this question for themselves. I can say to you that Jesus made the claim He's the only way to God...and I believe that He is....but each person needs to come to their own conclusion.

I also believe that the bible is the inspired word of God, as it claims. It is not a blind faith, it is a studied one. But, once again, each person needs to come to their own decision about this.

May God guide you in your seeking.

Because he SAID he was !
He is not a man...and he doesn't lie, he has no motivation to lie.

19God is not a man, that He should tell or act a lie, neither the son of man, that He should feel repentance or compunction [for what He has promised]. Has He said and shall He not do it? Or has He spoken and shall He not make it good?

Except for belief in Jesus and some sort of God... nothing.

*Some* people will try to claim attributes such as goodness, tolerance, etc. for being a "true Christian", but those are only attributes for good people; Christian, Muslim, atheist, pagan, etc..
