You were looking to ease your conscience it is always appropriate to apologies, but not to force her to accept it.

Wow. I am impressed. You wrote an apology?
That gesture makes you a really great guy in her eyes. Yes, it does!!! It shows that you have class and you know that you made a mistake. That you are a man who's big and secure enough to admit his mistake and then apologize.
She'll never forget this gesture. By doing this you'll earn points that'll make your YA points pale in comparison. And those points will last longer than YA points!!!
She might not be interested right now. But she'll never forget your gentlemanly gesture and she will remember you always (yes, trust me, always). And then...who knows? Things change. In her eyes, you're a great guy who has style and class.
PS: I am saying this because something like this happened to me years ago. I still have a soft spot for the guy. Yes, many years later. Just because he wrote that apology and explanation.

You did what you thought was right for the moment. If it was right for you then, it is still right. Move on. It wasn't you that was wrong, it was her for being rude. Congratulations on being a gentile man, it is a rare thing in this day and time. Perhaps she will learn, maybe she won't understand that she was rude. Thank you for doing the right thing.

If you kept the apology short and to the point it probably made a good impression. Otherwise it's just more of the same.

People naturally feel sorry for people when they are rude because we have instincts that tell us that what we said is hurtful and we are letting our anger out wrong. You have morals. Good for you ;)

It just shows that you are a true gentleman (one of the few remaining)!
Let it go and don't look back - just move on to "greener pastures"!
