What the Trinity is? I have heard so many different explanations, and it's just way too confusing. Can someone clear this up for me?

It should say "Father, Son and Holy ghost are one...what?
Also, I know "trinity" is not in the Bible, but where do you find the phrase "God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost?

You will get different explanations of what the Trinity is depending on denominations or where the person goes to church.
Basically the Trinity is Father(God) Son( Jesus) & Holy Spirit.
I will try to find it now and edit.
I found some ref for you I will give you a web site that I use often. http://www.biblegateway.com/
Trinity: A word not found in Scripture, but used to express the doctrine of the unity of God as subsisting in three distinct Persons. This word is derived from the Gr. trias, first used by Theophilus (A.D. 168-183), or from the Lat. trinitas, first used by Tertullian (A.D. 220), to express this doctrine. The propositions involved in the doctrine are these: 1. That God is one, and that there is but one God (Deut. 6:4; 1 Kings 8:60; Isa. 44:6; Mark 12:29, 32; John 10:30). 2. That the Father is a distinct divine Person (hypostasis, subsistentia, persona, suppositum intellectuale), distinct from the Son and the Holy Spirit. 3. That Jesus Christ was truly God, and yet was a Person distinct from the Father and the Holy Spirit. 4. That the Holy Spirit is also a distinct divine Person.
I hope this helps......................

Trinity Means God the Father, God the Son, and God the holy Ghost.
The three in one concept.

Honestly no one answered this to the degree I would have expected. Many people say Mormons are not Christian because we do not believe in the trinity, yet we believe in the Heavenly Father, Jesus, and the Holy Ghost, and we believe they are connected probably in some way we can't fully grasp.
They are all unique and individual however.

The trinity is a way of explaining what we think is the relationship between Jesus Christ, God, and the Holy Spirit (which could be described as the voice or feeling that acts as an advocate for God). They are all one, yet they can be defined in separate terms. For example, ice, liquid, and vapor are all WATER, just in different forms. That's why we say that Jesus Christ is one with God.

It is written... I AM the LORD thy God One LORD.
I AM - the always existant
the
LORD - Yahweh
thy
God - the Elohim (plural of Elh)
One - Echad (united)
LORD - Yahweh
Jesus said the Preach the Gospel (starting from Jerusalem) to all the world, baptising them in the Name of the Father, Son & Holy Ghost.
These three bear witness in heaven... The Father, Word & Holy Spirit. These Three are One.
Elohim is plural of Alh and is the Father, Word & Holy Spirit.
But Jesus also was born of a virgin, conceived of the Holy Spirit. The Word of Elohim came from heaven to earth and dwelt among us as a human.
Jesus is 100% the Word of Elohim and 100% the Son of Man (Mary, Israel).
Jesus humanity is new 2000 yrs ago. He was a body, soul & spirit. Also the Word of Elohim/ Bread from Heaven.
We are made in the Image of Elohim, Father, Word & Holy Spirit. Adam was a body, soul & Spirit. (Until he died spiritually from rebelling against God). So, also we die/blind spiritually when we rebel against Gods Redeeming Grace.
Jesus said that to see the Kingdom of God, we must be born again. That the flesh brings forth of the flesh and the Spirit brings forth of the spirit. We Spiritual rebirth, we are born of God, born of His Spirit, cleansed by His Blood, joint heirs with King Jesus, part of the family of God.
Then we are whole again, a body, soul & spirit. Our body still is corruptible and will die. But the soul/spirit goes to heaven when we die and when resurrection day happens, we are raised up in an uncorruptible body, soul & spirit forever.
When I first recommitted to God, I asked God about this. I believe God is True to me about the Trinity.
Also, Jesus obeyed the Father unto death for us & raised from the dead. So God has highly exalted Him with the Highest Name. That at the name of Jesus (the resurrected Jesus) every knee shall bow & tongue confess Jesus Christ is LORD / Yeshua Messiah is Yahweh to the Glory of God the Father.
What helped me learn is doing a word search on the Names of God with a Strongs Exhaustive of King James Bible words. Plus others gave me other written explainations.
Trinity isn't in the bible. These three are one is in the Bible.
Also, when Jesus was baptized & a spirit in the form of a dove came upon Jesus & a voice from heaven said, "This is my beloved Son in whom I AM well pleased.".
