My girl idolises her daddy. We used to be good together, the computer got in the way, and he would spend 24/7 on the machine. As my girl grew older and months went by, i found myself doing things on my own. I wanted him to become involved again, so i asked him to leave his game and be a family again. He said he would. I dont mind him going out with friends. But he choose tonight to go out with someone he never really bothers with (the friends a troublemaker and brings the worst out of him), i am now on my own again. The first night of the ultimatum hasnt worked.

I never wanted it to be like this, i just wanted a family. Me and his mum are close i will lose this and my girl will lose her daddy if i dump him. But how can i make him see hes done wrong, by not letting him go. Im terribly insecure.

What are you asking? It sounds like you want to go out with this girl and her daddy at the same time.. wtf.

Stop pursuing this "girl" or "dad" and get to a grammar school, sheesh!

Sweetie no harm meant but what ultimatum are you speaking of. The part about being terribly insecure goes hand in hand with the whole my child needs daddy thing. So before I give you an answer I'll say this Look at her(your lil girl that is)!!!
Now for the answer. Your child can have a daddy without you being with him. A family is great but a happy family is better. In that whole long question you never mentioned if he was a good father. Never the less, if he his now he will be whether youre together or not ,and if he isnt than he a total loser.
Unfortunately the problem is you. You have to start doing things FOR YOU. Things that dont involve him.Get a life outside of him , raise your confidence, stop making yourself so available. Not only will he come around ,but youll be a happier person and your daughter will see that all important girl power.

How dare this man allow his computer to come first before his wife and child. He sounds like a jerk. Best thing you can do is to kick him out, then he'll realise what he's lost. You deserve better than coming second best to an electrical device. Tell him this.

Ps - If i was you, I'd rip the damn pc out of the socket and rattle him over the head with it.

Its good that you and his mum are close, cant she have some input in trying to make him see where he's going wrong? He should be made to see what he is jeopardising. He has got the responsibility of being a father to a daughter who adores him and SHE must be his priority. Good luck sweatheart.

you should realize that her father was the first man that she loved . she will always love her dad and want to spend time with him. if they spend normal amount time such as once or twice a week then let it go but if its everyday and you feel like she is neglecting you for her dad talk to her.

You need to sit down and talk to him. Tell him how you feel, listen to what he has to say too. If he wont listen then it's probably time to say goodbye. You can still be friends with his mother.
