I downloaded Nortons 360 to try and burned my avast anti virus to a disc from program files, now when i try to get it back i can't get it to install from the disc, can't even find the setup for it. How and why

You can't save your config like that. It doesn't work that way. You didn't save any of the registry settings involved with your program, thus Windows can't do anything with it.

try to
copy the CD files to their original directory C:\Program Files\...etc
if the exectable application(witch has the software icon)work..then
Add a Shortcut of it to Your Desktop

this due to the files that are required to start installation are auto removed to for copyright rules require this
