For getting salvation (aka moksha in Hinduism) one needs to travel the path of spirituality (not religion). Salvation announces the end of journey of life for the soul atman within every human being. No further body to manifest... the soul atman liberates forever and goes to the kingdom of God (aka Baikuntha in Hinduism)... a point of no return!

There are some prerequisites for traveling the spiritual path.

1. We need to practice absolute truthfulness in our day-to-day affairs of life.

2. We need to believe in the existence of God and his creation. In absence of absolute faith in Almighty God... salvation just cannot be achieved.

3. Every human being is primarily a karma yogi... one who performs karma as one proceeds in the journey of life. This karma requires to be absolutely negated... the cessation of karma in its entirety is a definite must before one reaches the stage of Nirvikalpa Samadhi. Until a residual balance of karma remains... the soul atman within shall continue manifesting body after another.

And for this one requires to perform karma... the Nishakama karma way! And what is Nishakama karma? Carrying out karma in a manner that one is not attached to the fruits of karma is Nishakama karma. We all know that our soul atman within has manifested the body. Whatever be the karma performed by the body... the fruits are always for the soul atman within. The fruits of karma were never meant for the body.

King Janaka... the father of Sita in Ramayana was a karma yogi par excellence! He gained enlightenment and finally salvation in his lifetime.

4. One needs to practice absolute celibacy for a minimum period of 12 years. Practicing absolute celibacy does not mean abstinence from sex. It is always voluntary.

5. Following the path of Neti (not this, not this) as preached and advocated by Maharishi Ramana is the sure shot method for reaching the stage of Nirvikalpa Samadhi. Neti is best followed in the Shavasana pose of yoga (the death pose).

6. Gaining control of the five senses and the mind in totality. This is really a difficult task but not impossible. For traveling the uncharted path of spirituality... gaining control of the five senses and the mind in a short span of one life is extremely difficult. This fact can be fathomed from the evidence available. In the last about 150 years only two persons gained enlightenment and finally salvation (amongst a community of 6000 million people)... they were Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana.

And most crucial of all... a definite goal in life to become one with God is an essential must. Most human beings traveling the spiritual path do not finalize a goal of this life. We do not know what we shall be in the next manifestation!

Slowly the spiritual seeker reaches the stage of Nirvikalpa Samadhi and gains one-to-one dialogue with God on a permanent basis. This is the stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana). Thereafter one gains salvation (moksha)... liberation from the cycle of birth and death forever. More on Salvation - http://www.godrealized.com/salvation.html

Since Jesus Christ founded the Roman Catholic church in the year 33 on the Rock of Peter it is the only divinely instituted church. All other churches do not accept the fact that Our Lord has placed the church on the Rock of the Papacy and thus those churches are man-made. The first Pope was St.Peter and his direct successor is Pope Benedict XVl. Amazing continuity of 2000 years!

Our Lord could not offer confusion to the masses and thus desired mankind to stay under one roof. He did not wish a million churches to break away from one Catholic church with differing views, rebellion, various ways of interpreting scripture and disunity. Various denominations have been made by disgruntled men swearing on their interpretation of the scripture, thousands of churches are formed everyday. Only the Catholic church stays firm and according to the Lord's promise will endure till the end of time.

What is your logical conclusion after reading these facts? Where can salvation be found but in the Holy Catholic church and nowhere else. Study church history for an answer and you will find the Catholic church shining bright above all other 'christian' churches.

The Bible says that we must be born again of the water and of the spirit (St. John 3:5). We accomplish this obeying what is written in Acts 2:38. We repent (realize that we are sinners and ask for forgiveness) are baptized (by immersion) in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of those sins, then we are given the gift of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in an unknown language (Acts 2:4, 10:44-46, 19:6, and verified with St. Mark 16:16-17. If you try to get your salvation out of the Epistles, you are to late. The Epistles were written to those that already went through Acts 2:38

'Salvation' as it is interpreted with religious slants and tints, itself is suspect. Devils at times quote the bible to serve its own end. If we take salvation as a word for our own interpretation it is the satisfaction we derive from living a life that truly satisfied the noble dictates of our conscience. Universal brotherhood is one. Saving a soul drowning in human worldly miseries is another one. The list goes on. When we cultivate friendly attitude towards all His creations not confined to human beings alone, to the extent possible for us, this would mean salvation for us by gifting salvation to others. Regular textbook prayers would never lift one to the world of salvation as long as one lives with an 'Abel and Cain' creed. An examination of the answers you received make me feel that it is time to shun orthodoxy and develop a broader outlook on mankind. Is salvation is confined to only one religion what would happen to the rest who practice a different one? Please think!

REDEMPTION BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH

Because mankind is incapable of meeting God’s standard of perfection necessary to abide in God’s presence (Romans 3:19-20,23), God sent His Son Jesus Christ to pay the total debt for the believer’s sins and mercifully credits to his account Christ’s righteousness (Romans 3:21-28,5:1-11; 2 Corinthians 5:18-21). Jesus’ gracious act of atonement was complete and covers all sin (Colossians 2:13-14; 1 John 1:9). Salvation is not based on good deeds but according to the mercy of God (Titus 3:4-5). Believers are justified by faith; it is a gift by God’s grace (Romans 4:3-8; Ephesians 2:8-9). A true, living faith will result in a desire to live a holy, loving life of good works (Ephesians 2:10; Galatians 5:6; James 2:14-26), but failure to be absolutely successful at righteous living does not negate the believer’s justified status.

It is not a free gift. It is an offer. You must fulfill certain obligations before receiving the alleged reward.

According to my understanding of christianity, christian salvation is preconditioned upon:

1) Belief that jesus is god and savior
2) Repentence of alleged sin
3) (in some cases) Formal baptism

Given these are preconditions, salvation is an offer, and no gift, least of all, free.

Some christians advertising this as a free gift cheapens their religion and makes it sound like they are selling you a used car.

When u surrender ur ego to God and before doing any act utter God u r doing this, remember before the deed and not after u have done the deed. This attitude absolves u of all Karmas and u attain salvation from karmic effect.

The Right to Enter Paradise

Death is inevitable. The thief on the cross knew when his would occur, but we can not predict our own. After his death, the crucified criminal went to live in paradise with Jesus. Some of us will also live eternally in God's presence. But others will experience everlasting torment, forever separated from Him.
If we receive Jesus as our Savior, our penalty for sin is paid. We are adopted into God's family, and Heaven is our eternal home. If we reject Jesus, we remain alienated from the Lord and under condemnation for our sin. We are destined to experience eternal judgment. God won't accept any of man's excuses because there is no acceptable defense for unbelief. (Acts 4:12)
Become part of God's family today. Acknowledge your sinfulness, and express your faith in these words:
"God, I have sinned against You. (Romans 3:23) I've followed my own way and refused to give You the right to rule in my life. (Romans 3:10-12) I recognize I am separated from You and cannot rescue myself. I do believe that Jesus Christ is Your Son. I accept the truth of the Scriptures? that His death on the cross paid my sin-debt in full. (1 Corinthians 15:3-4) And I ask You to forgive me of my sins. (1 John 1:9) By faith, I receive You, Lord Jesus, as my personal Savior from this moment on."
If you just spoke those words to God, then, like the thief on the cross, you have received salvation? a gift of God's grace. The heavenly Father welcomes every person who comes to Him through His Son, regardless of background, age, or current situation. Through Jesus, the right to enter paradise is yours!

You already have salvation. Jesus saved the world when he died on the cross. You will be able to choose to go with Him to Heaven at the moment of your death. What you do on Earth will determine whether you can recognize Him when you meet Him.

It's quite simple actually...

You must first, acknowledge you are a sinner. Pray, and ask Jesus to come into your heart, and save you from your sins. Repent of your sins, and put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ.

Once you have done this, you are forever saved. You are saved by grace, not works.. and salvation is something you can never lose.

If I can be of any further help, feel free to IM/e-mail me. :)

God bless you!
