Last November. Here is a summary I did on the Book:

"Ruth" is a touching story of a woman's love for her mother-in-law Naomi. Ruth became a part of God's great plan of salvation and demonstrated her new faith through sacrifical love.

The story starts with Naomi, her husband Elimelech and two sons, Mahlon and Chilion moved to the land of Moab from Israel/ Mahlon and Chilion married girls of Moab, Orpah and Ruth./ However Elimelech, Mahlon and Chilion die so Naomi decides to move back to Israel with her daughters-in-law./ As the journey starts Naomi tells the girls they could return back to Moab to be with their family./ Ruth refuses to leave Naomi and states I will go wherever you go./ They arrive in Bethlehem in the beginning of the barley harvest.

Naomi had an in-law named Boaz who was wealthy and had fields to harvest./ Ruth starts to gather grain dropped by the reapers./ Boaz befriends Ruth while she worked in his fields./ Ruth asks Boaz to make her his wife as they are close relatives to Naomi./

First Boaz follows custom of "right to purchase" which includes land and marriage of Ruth. (He was not first in line so he went to speak to his relative to discuss who should calm the land.)/ Because Ruth's son would be heir to property the other relative didn't want it so gave Boaz permission removing his sandal validating the transaction./

Boaz marries Ruth and has a son named Obed./ Naomi cared for the baby who became famous in Israel; the father of Jessi and grandfather of King David.
