Everyday they're lavished with praise and attention. The congregation always reminding them how special they are and how they live by higher standards. Then overkill just makes them so egotistical to where they say, "Wait I can't teach public students to worship Christ? That's persecution!" or "Wait I can't spew hatred to a Muslim or homosexual but I can be criticized for wanting to?" There was a ton of self-important propaganda at Jesus Camp. Seems to be a gap of information from, "You're not so special" to "You are one of the few soldiers of God."

Paranoia will destroy ya.

Why not embrace the principles of liberty and let Evangelicals believe and teach what they want?

For the time being anyway, Christians (and non-Christians) are guaranteed freedom of speech based on the First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States.

One man's "hatred" and "propaganda" is another man's free speech.

if you are getting your view from the movie "Jesus Camp" don't! It was some what undecided in how it wanted to portray the religion it was documenting. I've seen it and it doesn't give the whole story. It almost felt like it was against the faith but was trying to be politically correct in saying "these people are crazy, look what their kids go to summer camp to do" Do not categorize all, by that not completely accurate look at christian camp. We do want our kids to live by a higher standard, God's. We teach them God loves them, and they are special, but they are not to take that lightly. We teach them they are to love people but hate the sin. It is possible, you can be a friend and or good neighbor without contributing to or participating in the immoral behavior, follow the example Jesus set. He ate with, talked to, and tried to guide the sinners without becoming a sinner.he also spoke out against the sin. Unfortunately in today's society it has become OK to sin openly and freely at will, and it is no longer acceptable to openly and freely worship and praise God. We want our children to know God and have a relationship with Jesus, but until He comes back for us we must deal with this world. I don't feel it is self important propaganda, to make them see how God feels about them. But like any "family" there are responsibilities that come with it. Hence the no one is more important then the others. Keep an open mind and try a different point of view. maybe some one who has been to camp and experienced all of it, not just what the director wanted you to see.

Christians are the reason you have the right to write what you you have. Try a country of real religious suppression and then you'll be on your knees begging for the good old days. If you're feeling a little conviction, that's normal. Usually there is a contrast when good and evil meet.

Learn a little history about Christ and his followers. You may be surprised at how much they have given you.
