You can build it - it won't work.

Yes U could build one but it would not work. you would not be able to go fast enough and if you could you would not be able to breath. the closest thing I can think of to travel this way is what Star Gate SG1 do with an event horizon, this changes the body into it's molecular structure then transmits that electrical energy as if being transmitted by a telephone line then reassembled in there correct order and place in time and space. which is a very complicated procedure. I am not saying this could not be done and it may very well be possible to transmit a human from one place on earth to another very much like the transporter on star trek but the knowledge to create such a device would probably be far far far into the future. But remember when Star trek first came out and Captain Kirk used the communicator who would have though we would be using such devices ie (Mobile Phones ) less than 10 years later. Anything is possible. hope this has been of some help.

As fascinating and exciting this might sound, I think It could be built only if no illogical paradox can result from it such as: If you go back in time and kill you grandparents, what would happen to you in the present? So, to me the machine will not carry you physically in time but your consciousness, like some sort of dream only you will be witnessing what REALLY happened in the past; you will be like a ghost, you won't be able to interact with anything at all and no one will notice your presence because the slightest interaction between you and a fly could have serious repercussions in your actual time which could lead to nothing but paradoxes! So, you will have to be a witnessing-ghost in the past for such a machine to be realistic!

Seriously, there was a time machine or put it another way ,a form of transportation has and still is in the bieng.Wait for it, it was invented by an indian person and his work has been acknowledged but his theory is still has to be proved.

if it was possible to travel to the right place in the universe the time would be either faster or slower or exactly the so you would only be able to travel forwards in time, if you got into a place where the time was faster then on earth then once you came back you wouls be in the future if you went to a place where the time went slower, the time you came back you would be younger legitimatly but physicaly older, obviously time would have passed.
if you where to travel backwards in time then you would have to reach the speed of light which einstein proved to be impossible, and to even get near the speed of light, you would need the energy of the whole solar system. so if it was possible to reach the speed of light (which it isnt) we would be able to go back in time. to go forward in time is possible but i doubt anyone would bother or dare and also im not sure if thats possible to do in a lifetime.

well i suppose if you could travel fast enough e.g the speed of light. Then in theory you could go round the earth and pass the international date line more than once in a few seconds. Though you'd need to be travelling fast :D and it wouldnt work because it'd be just a few seconds after you left in relative time. :D Anti matter is needed for travelling at the speed of light i think and its immpossible to contain it. E=MC2 :D adapt that erm... M/E=C2 ??

This MIGHT work: Create a pair of 'lepton' black holes in close proximity (traps light particles, but transparent to photons). Fill up each with bosons (like cooper pairs). Should create a 'tunnel' effect in space between them. Rotate each in opp directions to create a time dilation. Then you would be able to send and receive information along this 'time tunnel'. Doubt that it works for macroscopic objects though!

particular i've got already have been given one! i'm sixty and nonetheless paintings complicated and get fairly drained at cases yet Friday nights i'm getting into my time device and come out with my hair completed, make up on and searching twenty years youthful, then i circulate out on city and function a ball! the only subject is that it in ordinary terms lasts till right here morning so it desires perfecting a splash i think of.

Time moves linearly forward. It is possible to move at different rate through time (as relativity shows us), however only in a forward direction. It is conceivable that a device could be made to propel a person forward in time. However, as our understanding of the universe stands, it is impossible to build on that could send a person back in time.

If time travel were possible people would come back here from the future and sort all our problems out .So I dont think so

According to molecular thermo, if you traveled to 5 minutes ago it would look completely different from what you remember. But if you still want to travel through time, you might have to go to Amsterdam and ask for Johann. Yeah, boy...
