The KEF's are more versatile and have a more natural sounding midrange. The Klipsh definitely fit the brightness requirement however. The key is that you need to listen to both side by side, if possible, with music you are familiar with. If you are listening to mainly rock you may not be satisfied with the bass performance of either speaker. Consider getting a small sub woofer with a variable crossover. Then run speaker wires (not RCA cables) to the sub and then speaker wires to the bookshelf speakers. With this set up you should be able to get quality sound with either of the speakers you choose.

If you can get your hands on a pair of newly released Cerwin Vegas (VE-8F or 12's) you will be a happy man! I just picked up the 8's (after having to bring back a good pair of Polks) and I'm blown away. They pack a clean punch, awesome bass and outstanding mid's. My father in law has the big old Vegas, which are good for loud rock and roll, but not well refined for anything else imo, so I was sceptic about these new ones. When I powered them up, I was pleasantly surprized at their crisp full sound even at lower levels watching tv. They are also powerful enough to shake the windows with no distortion. I just wish I had these earlier.

This is a bit tricky .Both speakers you are interested in share the type of sound you are after.

In my opinion the Klipsch have the slightly brighter overall sound .But the Kef has a smoother midrange and slightly tighter bass..

So for rock music i guess the Klipsch would deliver and for all other music the Kef with better midrange would be my choice.

For an overall balanced sound with all types of music i would definitely go for the Kef.There is less chance of getting "listener fatigue" with long music sessions

If you get a chance you should listen with a piece of music you are familiar with to both speakers hooked up to the same amp. at approx. the same loudness to select the one that sounds best to you .Very important don't let anyone but you make that decision .

I hope you understand ,it is your choice based on their performance which is the one for you. Good luck!

The klipsh have a higher sensitivity and probably will sound a little brighter, maybe what you are looking for.

I don't think you can really go wrong with either one, they are both quality.

If you can listen to them that would be the best way to choose.

I prefer the KEF, but make sure you bring a couple of your favorite CD's along with auditioning to find the sound you like!

that's low-priced, yet then you definately gets what you paying for. In my adventure Skytec is probable between the worst manufacturers you may decide on between. in case you desirous to purchase this on your own use they probable will do, yet not for extreme use.
