Help with car audio capacitors...?

I have 2 pioneer 760watt amps pushing 2 sony xplode 12" 1200watt subs. I recently installed 4awg wire with a distribution block, and have 4awg wire one to each amp, and one to a capacitor(1 farad). I have seen that I should have two wires to the positive of the cap and back to the distribution block, but as of now, I have the one wire going to it. any recommendations?

The way you have it wired now should be fine. Make sure you have a 4-gauge ground wire on the cap also.

The cap should hook up in series between the amps. You feed the positive wire to it, then another positive wire from the same terminal on the cap goes to the amps with as short of wire as you can get it.

i have 2 10" jl audios and a 760 pioneer amp. with no capacitor. the capacitor is not really need to be honest. try hooking it up without it to see how its running. if you dont leave your car sitting there thumping without the engine running you shouldnt need it at all. the only way i would even put it on is if i quit blowing batteries. dont really know what else i can say to help. i always avoid installing capacitors, its just one more pain that i dont like to put up with. i also tell my friends not to bother with them either.

You don't need another cable. One farad easily discharge through a 4ga cable. One farad isn't really that much. There's no need to go overboard on this one.
