I just started getting into running about a month ago and now I'm running everyday. What is the proper form for running? I don't want to be doing it incorrectly and then end up injured.

So if you guys could answer that, that would be great. Any other advice would be appreciated, too!

you're body is probably not ready for all this running. everyday is also not advised, 6 times a week or maybe 5 is what serious people do. 7 doesn't give your body enough rest.

Please do not go to the doctor yet...If you do you'll fall into the horrible cycle of Hypochondria which basically is an athlete killer.

Proper running form. Your elbows should be at a 90 degree angle constantly. Do not clench your wrists/hands. Run tall, not slouched over. If you slouch, then your lower back is not strong enough so go to a gym and do the proper workouts etc. Don't strain your neck as you run, look forward.

You might have an injury...but then it'd hurt too much to run. I had a torn Labrum, and yea I couldn't do more than walk.

My suggestion is to ice your shoulder before and after you run, before will minimize the pain, and after will help it heal.

I am not sure why your shoulder would hurt. If you stand up straight, pretend that you have each vertebra on top of each other. Let your shoulders hang down, your elbows are at 90 degrees and your arms swing straight back and forth, front to back. They do not cross your body, do not hold your shoulders up. Relax your hands and arms. There should not be any stress in your shoulders or arms. Is the pain in only one shoulder? Where is the pain? If you are wearing a bra is it a sports bra that is soft and will distribute the weight over a larger area? The only thing I can think of is maybe a strap is digging into your shoulder.

It is common to experience shoulder pain during your runs if you are too tense in your upper body. Most likely, the tension in your muscles in your hands and arms are the source of your shoulder pains. When you feel this pain, shake out your arms and drop your shoulders.

To avoid this condition altogether, your spine should be elongated (but not stiff), shoulders dropped into a comfortable position, arms bent at about 90 degrees, and your body should have a slight forward lean. You hands should be closed, but not tight. Imagine that you're carrying an invisible egg that must not break. The main idea is that your upper body should be relatively loose.

There are also a few shoulder stretches you can do before your run. You can find a few in the link I enclosed below.

Finally, I noticed that someone thought that your shoulder pain may be associated with a heart condition. Sometimes, older people (~40+ years old) with a history of heart disease will experience pain in the left shoulder, which is the site of the heart (cardiac agnia). However, you can rest assured that there is no reason to believe that that is the cause.

Good luck on your continued running.

You may want to consult a doctor. Heart disease can sometime show up as shoulder pain. The fact that you are feeling it during exercise could be cause for alarm.
