I was homeless for over 3 years. I never went to an atheist shelter or soup kitchen because there weren't any. The Church often helped me usually without me even asking. I f did ask for anything i always got more than i requested. Peace be with you

They do take action, just in small ways. As for large, planet wide action the Bible shows there is a larger question. In fact, the overall theme of the Bible is God's right to rule the earth. With Adam & Eve, Satan called God a liar and questioned His right to rule saying man should rule himself. Now He could have wiped everyone out but He allowed the issue to play out. 5,000 yrs. of written history has demonstrated man is lousy at ruling itself. At His time, He will bring things back to His original purpose for the earth. Interestingly, Jesus said he himself would not know when that time would be exactly; only his Father. We should be grateful that He waited or else we would not be here.

Because most Christians still do not understand the Biblical concept of Salvation being rescue and deliverance from present world problems. Many Christians think that salvation does not happen until they die, when their soul is forever in paradise.

Jesus Christ however, believed that salvation was a present day experience of one's complete being - the rescue of one's body, emotions and all other effects.

The Body of Christ on earth - the Church, has the responsibility to save the world. One of the most famous Christians here in the UK is very active when it comes to present day salvation - his name is Bono from the band U2, and he has been speaking to different churches on how we must take Christ's word to bring the good news to the poor seriously. He is a surprisingly good exegete.

Did you know that famine, sickness and other people depriving things are not the work of God? The devil uses all of this so people will blame God. If you are attuned to God then you will not have that worry. How eve most of us were sinners long b before we asked God into our lives. It was in those sins we connected diseases and illness. All we have to do is ask God to heal us. All we have to do it pray. I learned a long time ago to not ask "Why Me, God?" but "Why not me?" The adversity and strife can be used to strengthen you. If God brought you to it he will take you through it. FAITH

We were sent down to earth as a test when we were in the pre existence. 2 plans were formed Jesus's plan and Satan's plan. Jesus's plan was that we would come down here and have free will and have it be a test and he would come down and die for our sins. Than Satan's plan was for us to be pretty much puppets and everyone would be perfect. Then we got to choose which plan we wanted 2/3 went to Jesus's plan and 1/3 went to Satan's 2/3 of us got bodies and the third who chose against Jesus didn't get one

there really is a simple answer to it, you are a physical being God is not, and he will not interfere with the physical world, he never has and he never will, and the religiously insane simply cannot understand that, they continually pray to him, curse him, beg him, and all to no avail, I have been a catholic now for 60 years, and I cannot understand why so many religious nuts do not know the difference between a physical world and a spiritual world, I assure you all the questions you have ever asked will be answered for you at your death, just like all of us will.

Because God is not a person with a conscious like humans are. God is a concept. It is up to PEOPLE to deal with the world problems ... and we have not been doing a very good job of it.

some say 'if there’s a God I hate him for allowing suffering'

There are various levels of depth of understanding why there is suffering
The simplest way to say it is 2 words

Free will

But allow me to go to the next level of understanding as it was known by Moses' ancestors who kept records and passed them on to him which he collected into the first 5 books of the Bible. All of the following information is found directly in the Bible. I realize that you probably know most of the following information already but please read through it because I just would like to write it all in plain 'American speak without the 'thee' and 'thou' stuff...

the Almighty has no beginning (admittedly, an impossible concept for humans to wrap their mind around) and the firstborn of all creation was His Son, with whom and for whom He created the universe and then the earth and the animals (all this could have taken billions of years since to God a "day" is not the way we count a "day") during this time they created spirit creatures (angels) who were given free will. Up until this point all the creatures of flesh were driven by instinct. They didn't plot and plan, they didn’t have writing systems; they didn’t create and share artwork or endeavor to design a fancier house than their next door neighbor. They just operated on the instinct God programmed into them and various species came and went extinct over the eons.

Man was then created and given free will to do things differently than the animals and a limitless imagination to create and share artwork and write literature and to invent. Man was created to live forever without death on the earth that was perfect and provided him with his every need and desire. He was told to fill the earth with people
(this next part is not in the Bible but one might imagine that by the time the earth was filled, man would have invented hyperspace travel and God would have made other planets inhabitable... they probably already exist in the universe but we have unfortunately limited ourselves as you will see next)

Gravity is a law. If someone told you not to jump off a tall building or you would die, you would take their word for it.
Man had only one law; 'do not eat the fruit of that tree there or you will die'. But one of the angels used his free will to develop envy toward God. He wanted the worship that was solely due the Creator. He lied to the humans. He told them that God had lied to them and that they wouldn't die if they ate that fruit. He called God a liar! He told the humans that there was more to life than perfection, peace and happiness; that they were missing out on something by not eating that fruit. That they didn't need God, that they could rule themselves apart from God.

A choice was made by the humans

We have been ruling ourselves and suffering and dying ever since that choice was made

Did God lie to those first humans? NO

Now, because we have been given what we want... to rule ourselves... we have come to the point in history where we now possess the means to destroy all life on the planet... and some would argue that environmentally we have *already* passed the point of no return. People who do not believe in God think that we *can* rule ourselves... even though 6,000 years of self-rule "progress" has brought us to nuclear arsenals and a toxic environment. For 6,000 years it has gone from bad to worse and they still think they can do it without God.

'So what are we supposed to do?' you ask
Well, there are various options:
We could elect a new president
We could eliminate communism
We could eliminate democracy
We could stop corporations from trying to make more money/pollution
We could force everyone to believe in God

But none of those things will work

God sent His Son to take on a human form and be an example for us all to follow... to show us how to change the course this planet is on

There is one fact that can not be refuted:
If everyone on the planet were to simultaneously live according to the example set by God's Son Jesus, we would not have any more governments or pollution or hate or war. We would only have love and peace.

But right now we are still, as a planet, under the impression that we don’t need God to help us... we can do it ourselves, our own way.

So here comes 'free will'... the first humans used their free will to choose our current course.

Those who recognize that we can not do it alone will use their free will to serve God and try as hard as they can (though we are not perfect) to live our lives as closely as we can to the example that Jesus set. That involves *much* more than the vast majority of people who 'claim to be' christian ever consider.
The Almighty will *not* allow the 'self-rule' humans to ruin the earth but, as environmentalists will quickly point out, we are precariously close to that 'point of no return'...
and that means we are precariously close to the day of God's wrath, when He "brings to ruin those ruining the earth"
He has promised that He made the earth to last forever and to be inhabited forever and that "the meek would inherit it and live forever upon it."

So, we live in a very pivotal time where we must use our free will to choose a side... self-rule (political activism) or God's rule (living by and teaching others the example of Jesus)
God has promised to destroy all the things that cause division/hate/suffering but He has given us the entire history of man to figure out that we can not rule ourselves. He has given man until the 'point of no return' to figure it out but He will *not* allow man to go past that point where the earth becomes ruined. He will step in right before that moment.

Which side will you be on at that moment?
