How long is the average sentence for possesion of Marijuana?

Hello i am 14 years old and i was woundering what would the sentence be for me if i was busted for possesion cause on friday april 6th 2007 i got "accused of selling marijuana" i had some on me the officer checked me and didnt find it "Thank god i was LUCKY" so i was woundering if he had found it how long would i got sentenced i had Less an ounce rolled into a joint on me so if i got caught how long would the sentence be. Also is it a felony in colorado?

also i dont like smoken i started at 12 and im already addicted and i know its bad so i regret it but addiction is powerful kick in the a.ss so dont critisize me ok

14 years old and messing with Mary Jane? Momma must be real proud of you, son. Does fitting in with other losers really mean that much to you? Don't give me the "pot isn't adictive" speech--I know that medically it isn't. But do you know what happens to dopers? Nothing. In ten years, they're still sitting on the couch playing video games and munching Cheetos. Sound like a beautiful future to you?

Okay Kiddo. I am also in CO but with the fed pd. You most likely would get a citation written into juvenile court where you & your parents would have to appear. It would be on your juvenile record like an arrest, even though you weren't cuffed and booked. A small amount like you described would be considered a misdemeanor offense, most likely receiving a fine, but you could face some time picking up trash every weekend for up to a year, your age dictates this.

There are free anonymous programs that you could go to for assistance getting this off your back too. Did you know that marijuana is only addictive psycologically? You can do it, give it your damndest effort, your own future is dependent on it!

Laws vary from state to state. Some states it depends on the amount you have and how old you are.
Less than an ounce is many states means you would get a citation and have to appear in court.
If you are accused of selling, that would mean that you would be charged with possession for sale which is a more serious charge. Even at 14, you will wind up sent to juvenile detention and if you think its funny or cool... think again.
Dump the grass and get a life. If you want to smoke it later, thats your business, but at 14, someone should kick your a.s.s. for having it.
Go do things that 14 year olds do and forget the drugs.

Let this be a lesson to you !!!! You have no business with that stuff anyway, correct me if I am wrong but your probably smoking it too, right ? Ya, think its cool ? Your friends are doing it too, on and on.............I think you should stop this stuff before you in up in big trouble !!!!!

And how do you know that it isn't laced with something when you get it ?? You don't !! Until after its to darn late !!!

The Laws: Depends on how much you have on you, if you have any drug paraphenalia on you ( that alone can be a separate charge as well )

Do you want a week-end intervention program ? Because if you are caught, besides they just may sentence you to a intervention program.....That you would have to pay..not the court, You !!

Did ya think your family will pay for this for you ? Are your friends going to get all their money together and pay for it, and I am talking your fines and all when you get caught and you will get caught !! Eventually !!!!

If sentence to probation or the drug intervention program, those people in the court system will want to see you, not your friends !!!! You will have to be the one to attend, Not your friends !!!

Go to your family and tell then you feel you are addicted, tell them whats on your heart ( that you have been smoking since 12 ) and get some help. Be Honest !!!! Honesty is the only way !!!!! There are many support groups out there

Usually police officers are pretty cool if thats all youre doing. They wont usually write you a ticket for that unless youre doing something else because they understand its not really hurting anyone. Also, I dont think they want to get into the debate over marijuana laws. It's just a job let them do their 8 hours and go home damn.

But since u are under age, they would more than likely put you in juvenile hall until you turn 18.
Is it really worth that to get high?

Some states have mandatory minimum sentences for possession. Usually over a certain amount or for multiple arrests. Check out norml.com for each states laws.

as a minor, you might get juvie but not serious time.

i also think that some states have decriminalized pot as long as you have less than 2/3rds of an ounce on you - but look it up and don't take my word, or anyone else's on that.

that aside, i find it absolutely shocking that we still put people in jail for marajuana related 'crimes.'
