As you know, I was stood up last night. I don't think I asked the question right earlier, though. Why did he pursue me for a week, call twice that day to confirm and then not answer my call?
And why am I sad? I wasn't the one who even asked out. Even gave him a chance to break the date THAT DAY (yesterday). He was tired and I said that we didn't have to do anything tonight. Then he quickly said, "no, no I'm fine, just don't want to be at work". He even called later with movie times. I'm just confused. And I'm really surprized how sad I was afterwards. Is there a chance there is a legit reason? Or am I just a joke?

No matter what it's about - you are NOT a joke.

This is one guy, who did not show you the respect you deserve. that makes him a joke.

he might have a legit reason, but i can only think of so many reasons to not be able to at least call you and tell you why he can't make it.

check it out - ask him.

but it sounds to me like you were really quick to take him making this mistake and turn it around on yourself and decide that it meant you were crap. which you are not. you sound really sweet. you should work on making yourself happy - without a guy to help you.

He probably was lining up three different sets of plans for last night and he chose one of the alternates. Those people don't consider the feelings of others. They just do as they please each second of the day.

You are sad because you were set up to be rejected. You were jerked around and you have every right to be upset. If you want to teach him a lesson, when he calls, be friendly and set up plans with him again. Then, stand him up. Show him what it feels like to be treated like nothing by an inconsiderate jerk.

He probably fell asleep on the sofa...Give him a second chance. Next time you see him, ask him what happened cause it sounded like he really wanted to go out with you. If he doesn't give a good explanation, move on.
Good luck!

I really don't know mate, I mean he did sound keen and Im just as confused as you are.

Personally I would leave it be and see what happens. Question him the next time you see him face to face and that way you will tell if hes lying or not..

I don't think you are a "joke" but I do think you are building this all up in your mind way past the point where it deserves to be occupying your entire day. Just let it go. Whatever, if he calls he calls, no biggie.

Don't over-react...
Remember Sleepless in Seattle ?
Find him and ask him what happened...
Don't accept anything but a really good reason...
